Morning Desciples of Divinity.

I had a dream last night where I gave my two weeks notice at work. If I hadn't a care in the world, I may have made it a reality. Retirement sounds real nice...

...Of course that is all a pipe dream. So here I am. How are all of you fine ladies and gentlemen today?

I've had the worst week of my life happen, but I'm not letting it get to me because there is always a reason to look ahead. I hope you can keep your head up too! Let's make this a good day^^/! *hands you a cookie*

Nik, am I evil enough to become your protege? My evilness is being held back here, and you need someone to take the reigns in order for you to retire to a world of petty crime.

The episode of SNL where Ashlee Simpson screws up her lip sync is on. *pours a glass on red wine and opens a bag of Cheetos* I hope they didn't edit it. :)

The 90's and early 2000's were the best years. I miss Will Ferrell, Chris Kattan, and those guys being on there.

Long distance moving is a punishment for something you did in a previous life.

How're you, denizens?

I will cherish this always, much like a lonely, desperate person cherishes a simple hand on the shoulder... not that I would know or anything.

Welcome back to civilization! Moving in general is punishment. I believe the formula goes something like this:

punishment = (((distance x .03) x ((TimeInHome+PersonsInHome)/PrepTime)) - (Help - "HelpAKAJustHereForBeer")) x Children

Where distance is measured in miles, TimeInHome by months, PrepTime in weeks and both Help variables are adults 18 years and over.

I experienced a very similar year in 01-02. I lived in my pathfinder, and thought I was brilliantly cheating the system right up until november hit. gentle ***that frozen feeling you described is a horrible one. I'd wake up and start-up the nissan until it was too hot to bear, then turn it back off and wake up freezing again a couple hours later. The bum life is interesting. I gave it up when I knocked up my wife.

Good morning Nittany Lions.

Story time with Meshi.

Stayed late last night to do a software upgrade. Install on all machines goes well, run utilities on the server data, no issues, so I install the new version and it begins converting the data. This takes hours so I call it a night and plan on coming in early this morning.

Wake up this morning, get here nice and early. Check on the server, see the data conversion screen still there. Think it just needs to refresh since the display shut off of course, so I click on it. Then it happens. The software crashes.

Well ***, maybe it finished and just kinda freaked out when it was done not knowing what to do. It happens. So I open the software and the dreaded "You need to update your data" screen pops up. Well maybe it'll just do a quick check and be like "lol jk". So I click continue.

It.
Starts.
Over.

Panic sets in. We open in 1 hour, 0% chance of it being even remotely close to finished. Start weighing options. Decide the best course of action is to restore from backup. So I get rolling on that. This of course means I need to uninstall the software on all machines and install the old version.

By the time it was all said and done, we were functional at 10 AM. Zero data loss, and the timing was pretty impeccable. Didn't really need the system until at that moment.

Of course now I'm like "so wtf happened?" Then it hit me like a sack of bricks.

Good news: All is well.
Bad news: I'll be here this weekend...

bum life!!

there is an old weirdo that works at on of those "business centers" ....you know...color copies, signs, shipping... they used to call them print shops before the internet...

anywho... I was thinking that I need a job like that. very little customer interaction, very little work, he plays bass in an oldies band and spends most of his time practicing.

liquor store- gets robbed too often
comic book store- do they even still have those?
record store- ""
used book store- ""

I think I'd have made a good lawyer, pilot, or soldier, had my early years had any direction at all.

Now I must look for whatever joy may be found in evil middle management. such is life, I guess. It could be a whole helluva lot worse.

While everyone is busy coming up with new ideas for my new store... there are several key issues to keep in mind.

my wife is part angel with a halo of warm comforting light...when we go grocery shopping little kids THAT WE DON'T KNOW run up to her and give her a hug and try to come home with her... BUT SHE WON'T BE THERE unless she is visiting me or something...

and I...on the other hand... exist in this world as some kind of perfect example that opposites attract... >.>

I look like something that escaped from the island of dr moreau... and the only thing that surrounds me is the haunting black chill of damned souls and eternal darknessn...

children piss their pants in terror and collapse into quivering jellyfish...

right...and so nobody with any sense would allow their children to enter my store

so no kids!
