kraken is waaayy over spiced. it's like the dorrito's of rum. i think they just tried to make it "EXTREME FLAVORED" and threw in double the spices.
wild turkey used to be my bourbon for the bar, but i make more so now it's knob creek. i actually don't dislike wild turkey, but it seems to vary batch to batch. it's the only liqour i've ever had to return. i think they didn't rinse the soap out after cleaning one of the machines. tasted like straight ajax.
absinthe... i've drank it in several painful to watch and wait ways. i honestly don't mind the taste of it straight up. other than looking cool i've found no reason to let it drip through sugar. tastes like black jelly beans. means i'm good to go on it. never tripped but did it get pretty drunk as it was 151 proof.

The hallucinogenic effects are a product of the wormwood; most absinthe you can get over here is pretty low on the wormwood quantity, so if you want to go full Hemingway you need to find the real thing.

Hope Rooks is adding Kojo's hot tub and personal spa and the Ni Minibar this week.
I went to a place with my wife the other weekend that actually knew what fresh salsa was, I was super impressed. We must have some fools from the south living here now. that's OK in my book. They even looked at us like stupid hicks for wanting sour cream.
The other day one of the retirees from here stopped by and gave me some cucumber salsa. It's so good I'm having a hard time eating the other half of the jar because I won't be able to get any more.

Too much cilantro is always a sign that you don't know what you're doing, and hoping to FLAVOR EXPLOSION your way out of the mess you made.
