That is the intent, but recently I find myself wondering if it'd just be easier to put a total kibosh on that stuff. The problem with P+R is that it generates basically all of the moderation work, and provides literally zero benefit, not even ad revenue. The only reason to keep it would be to placate the group of posters who hang around in it. And the thing is, some of them are fine! And want to have actual debates about things! But there's just enough *** to make me not want to deal with it anymore. So this is probably saber rattling, but it's louder saber rattling than before, at least. Just make Ackeron deal with it then, that's what he's there for lol

You could make it a pay to post thread. Only people who have spent money on the site may post there. Of course, that would seem terrible, so instead call it "VIP". Only "VIPs" can post in that thread and possibly some others. Want to PM someone about something said in P&R to work around? 50 cents a PM, otherwise it dumps into some obscure folder the person will probably never check. Call it "Priority Messaging Service". Still concerned about the headaches of the thread? Well since it's a VIP thread, it is free of the "oppression of the moderating staff." Voila! Money AND no headache! *twirls moustache* *removes evil corporation hat* I like turtles. I don't like leaving active reports floating around, and the general health of the site is my responsibility. A whole subsection of the forum turning into the Internet Slap-fight Thunderdome is not good for said health. The entitlement of some of the worst offenders is bad now - I shudder to think of what it would turn into if actual money got involved. I don't get paid for this gig anyway, but I can't imagine what the paycheck would have to look like for me to want to be party to that circus. Kind of off topic, but is it that P&R doesn't generate a lot of traffic (as to be expected on a site dedicated to gaming), or do people who frequent those threads have ad blockers on? I know that we were told that most of the site is supported by Google Adsense, so it's conducive to the health of site itself if we were to not block ads. The ad model is more complicated than that, and not something I go into detail about (for obvious reasons). Rooks said: » A whole subsection of the forum turning into the Internet Slap-fight Thunderdome sounds like a good name change for the P&R thread Congratulations, Misa. I was already teetering on reactivating XIV. The idea of giving Misses McGiblets a trusty, Lalafel side-kick dubbed Fart Squirrel is tempting.
How come you guys never linked your XIV characters?
According to FedEx, I will have my kilt by Friday, 10:30am...
I do not believe you Federal Express. There's something hilariously sad about the anti-smoking people trying to piggyback their ***on internet memes.

Morning all. I hope it finds you well. It finds me a busy little bee again & I am starting to miss the days of winter that are so cold no one wants to do anything & I'm left alone to read about the civil war & *** with you guys. ffX is way more cutscene heavy than I had recalled, but the story is nice, & that's been fun. I remembered what a putz I thought tidis was pretty quickly. good times. I was half tempted to get on the old ps4 minecraft map as well, so I may re-visit that again soon. Misa saw a fair portion of the map, it's pretty sweet, and a shame to be forgotten totally. sup with you weirdos? big weekend plans? I sent the wife back to work, so I think it's going to be dull / lonely / a lot of work of a weekend for this guy. You know, the early part of FFX is quite cutscene heavy, but once you get to the meat of the game, the story is good enough you don't notice it as much. Tidas is just a kid. I have had to rethink my approach to RPG characters. Most of them are portrayed as teenagers or grumpy old people, depending on the role. If you focus on the idea that Tidas is 17, and think of all the stupid stuff you said at 17, it's a lot more tolerable. Jassik said: » If you focus on the idea that Tidas is 17, and think of all the stupid stuff you said at 17, it's a lot more tolerable. I found myself doing that a bit, lol. I think I was only 17 the first time though, & still thought he was a putz. edit* I checked the release date, I was 18 at the time.
