The specific nature of the bitching and arguing is useful, because it's not like this is the last feature that's going into the site. "Keep badges rare" vs "everyone gets six thousand of them", what people wanted them tied to, etc.
More knowledge of what the site's users value gives me a better idea of what to prioritize. That thread got out of hand, and I probably should have shut it down two or three pages earlier, which is also useful knowledge for the future.

That reminds me of an incident where someone had changed the homepage on our applicant kiosk to brother and sister porn about 10 minutes before I was supposed to show some corporate people around the shop. Literally the most embarrassing moment of my life. I'm still not sure if it was a coworker prank or if an applicant did it, but I hope I never find out.

Is there any possible way to alter the blacklist function where, if a person were black-listed, they wouldn't be able to see what who placed the b-list status on the person writes. I think a b-list that is reflected on both sides would circumvent a hell of a lot of problems for people.
Unfortunately, some like to insert ill-intent and extrapolate whatever suits their needs to continue whatever their silly end-game is.
I'm just saying...B-list once that goes both ways could solve some major problems here.

So I stumbled upon some interesting information, but I have no idea how true it is. One of the main editors for the Chinese firm I write for, who is always praising my writing and looking forward to reading it, I decided to Google her name and see if I was able to find a picture of her. It didn't even seem like a Chinese name to me, but looked very uncommon. Well the result I got was someone who worked for the state department for 2 years, Google for 2 or 3 years, and now has her Linkin job labeled as... here copy and pasted:

Certainly possible. It'd still be subject to the problems with quoting, though, and that particular issue isn't going to go away short of a complete overhaul of the post structure.
