Only had a chance to watch the first video. Very interesting. I wonder how that system would work in the United States. My guess is that it would never be either properly run or funded, and would be doomed to fail from the start. Our mindset seems to be focused on punishing, rather than correcting criminal behavior.

The problem with so many good systems from other countries, in my eyes, is that they lack the really diverse, large population the U.S. has. But that's getting too far into P&R territory to go further, so let me put us back in Ni gear.

The problem of scale is the usual problem when trying to adapt systems from other nations to the US. Something that works for 30 million people doesn't necessarily work for 300 million.

PARKER was going to search for zah yesterday... but he got sidetracked and spent the day learning how to apologize in Chinese.

Something about Meshi borrowing money from The 14k Triad to either get out of credit card debt or pay back the yakuza for when we hired ninjas to have scuba steve killed.

PARKER is only part time! Stikelf is supposed to handle accounting!!!

Nothing really out of the ordinary, and nothing out of the ordinary close by that I would want to see in July. Usual little-big town stuff. Antique/junk shops, a downtown circa the 1880 and a poorly air conditioned (melt your face off) chapel.

boooo!

did you go get hitched over there or something? some of those places get expensive to run a/c for due to lack of allowances in the past, plus stupid town historical committees not wanting you to 'mess with the original skyline'. what a goat rodeo.

O.o
I went to a bar called rodeo goat in Dallas two weeks ago. Apparently it's the new sister bar of the really popular bar of the same name in Fort Worth.

Oh! Good God no! When/if we ever do the deed it would not be in Odessa, of all damn places, and it would definitely not be in July, of all damn months.

In-law wedding sans alcohol. I know a cluster of them, but ACK!

Alpine is very small town with a university there~its about 45min from Ft.Stockton/3hours from El Paso. Its surrounded by mountains and offers very few restaurants. However the places they do have are really good. They have a historical hotel there which is awesome since you get to wake up at 4:00am cuz of the train but its really neat. And there's an old style breakfast/coffee shop thats cheap and good~has awesome cinnamon rolls.
And if you go down the road you can go to Marfa and try to see the marfa lights or go up the road to marathon and eat the gage hotel and have really good steak. Scenery there is basically like flat plains mixed with lots of mountains and monoliths

I was close! it was a wedding... lol. I got married in january, was all slooshed up, went to walk my grandma / grandpa out to their car in the middle of a blizzard, got grandma in the door, said goodnight, went to turn around, slipped & fell on the ice and mangled my ribs / elbow.

I still don't think I've ever been to Marfa. I would like to take the bambino to Stephenville, which is relatively close to Marfa, for the dino tracks at Fossil Creek.

What I'm really excited about is going back to Whitney/White Rock when he's old enough to cliff dive and see the trilobites and whatnot. That was always fun (until you get pushed off the cliff)!
