Alternator in my truck is faulty...so..

Aw, bummer. Hope you get it fixed soon. I've messed around with mechanic work, enough I could figure most stuff out if I had to. I just don't like to lol. Still, as far as things to replace go alternators on most vehicles aren't too bad (unless it's like buried and in a super compact car that needs special tools or something)
I drive an 86 F-150 with a 300 I6, it's not too bad but it has a smog pump that has to be taken out completely to get to it.

Would not surprise me if the GPU/USB issues ended up being related.

on a side note, I am tempted to put Win8 in it.

"I'm just taking $20 in there, it'll only take like 15 mins." Means "I'll stop at $50." Which usually takes 30-45 mins.

Meh. I dunno. That's irritating as hell to deal with on a daily basis I'm sure, but...I dunno. Maybe I'm just sort of used to that kind of behavior in a slightly different situation. Meh. I should stop now. ^^;

It's not on a daily basis, but when I'm covered in concrete with sweat-soaked hair no, I do not want to stop at the casino.

Sorry. My current dream car of choice is a Ford, even. I just can't resist Ford jokes; my stepdad is too dedicated of an owner.

Yeah, I definitely get that.

I won't even go into Walmart after the gym without showering first.

And you've seen rural Walmarts.

I want either a 66 Mustang coupe in Vintage Burgundy, a 65 Falcon in Grecian Gold (which would be custom), or a 55 Thunderbird in not baby blue.

I want a 60s Shelby Cobra. I don't even care which one specifically, though the 427 Super Snake (and it's hefty $5M price tag) holds a special spot in the pantheon of my avarice.

Edit: but as far as current vehicles go, I find myself jonesing for the newest iteration of the Shelby Mustang as seen at this year's Detroit Auto Show.

Ok fine, I'd play Bob Dylan.

You can scroll back in that thread if you really care about my Bob Dylan opinion. I already addressed it previously. XD

If we're talking current super cars, sign me up for the Koenigsegg One or the McLaren P1. The Bugatti is amazing, don't get me wrong, but I just like something about the others a bit more.

I never understood people who would want to buy a car that costs the equivalent to a house. IDK. I think it's a waste, but whatever.

A Bugatti Veyron costs more than a house, maybe a neighborhood.

Well yeah. That's sort of what I'm saying. I wasn't even considering them. But if I were to do so...

If I had the money to buy those kinds of cars, I honestly wouldn't be likely to buy super cars anyhow; I'd buy classics and rarities.

What's there to understand, if you have more money than you can spend, there's no reason not to enjoy it at least for a little while. Enjoy life man it's short.

It costs about 1.5 million someone with that kind of money probably parks it in a garage of a 220 million dollar estate.

That said, I really admire people like the oracle of omaha that just live the lifestyle they always had. Giving to charities would be top on my list of things to do with that much cash.

I would have a very hard time justifying a truly lavish lifestyle. Decadence is not among my favorite things. Then again, with a low chance of ever being in that position, I guess it's easy for me to say. I always get mad at some celebs. "Donate to this cause, these people need your help!"

***, you get paid more to do one commercial than I do in two years. You donate to the cause. Oh, you "waived your fee" for the commercial, and that was your contribution? Please. -.-;

Edit: That's not to say I don't give what I can when I can. I just think celebs on television begging folks for cash for causes is a bit...questionable.

Depends on what you find enjoyable about life. Two of my friends that I have known for twenty-two and nineteen years have drunkenly hemmed and hawed over an unexpected windfall plan, and it goes back to our childhood hobby, love of animals and a charity we all worked at during our teens that is now defunct because of the recession.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it. I wouldn't do it, though, because I think it's a waste.

I honestly don't understand why it should be admired. If I had the kind of income to afford those types of things I would donate the majority of it and live in a normal house and drive a normal car also. But since 99% of the people in the world would do the exact opposite of donating 99% of their income like Warren Buffet, I guess it makes sense.

I guess what really matters is how much we're talking about, because money only goes so far. I think too many people don't think about the long-term ramifications of loose spending either.

Then again, I was balancing a checkbook and had an account for my allowance since middle school, did light bookkeeping for a portion of HS/college, and ran cash office for a portion of college for a clothing retailer. All things considered, I might be a bit miserly.

I don't like spending on things just for myself either. I'm happier when the group is happy. That's where I get loose with money.

Are we talking about having millions?
Antiquing house is all I have to say to that.

Oh and I love the WRX but I'd be driving something sexier.

I actually did this yesterday. It was a nice day, so I decided to go for a walk. Did the heel lock with my sneakers. 10/10 would do again.
