Ah, but we're using feminist shaming tactics against Alphas to try to discredit him. Don't forget that! ...meanwhile he uses the same tactics, but it's okay and/or different... *mindblown* Caitsith.Zahrah said: » Maybe she wasn't around much? Depending on the circumstances, you can't blame her. If he wasn't such an *** on here, I'd feel bad for him. Well, of course, I just don't understand when you two and most people I know IRL who were raised in single-parent homes are well adjusted, how someone like him comes along and blames women for every damn thing. I think you two have the normative experience. You two had the advantage of a deep appreciation for your mother early on too. I didn't really appreciate my mom the way I do now until my twenties, even though there were rumblings of divorce between my parents through out my childhood that didn't come into fruition until I was on the cusp of thirty. Knowing what I know now, I feel really shitty about siding with my dad when I had no comprehension of what long-term relationships/marriages entail as a kid/teen. Not going into my own experiences in this vein lest they be used against me.
Bottom line is I've seen the best and worst of divorce in my own family and among my friends and their families. The fecal vomit coming from their mouths about their fears of "zomg what I've worked for can't go to that ungrateful broad!" is just...pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. Especially on the subject of child support. They're your kids. That money should have been going to them even if you *** stayed married. It's worst-case scenario that happens on rare, rare occasion. It's like worry about another 9/11 instead of the bus driving down the wrong side of the road right at you. So, enough about bitching about people we're all pretty sure are full of ***and not worth our time.
How's things today, Ni? Personally I'm excited for my Chinese Wednesday™ ginger chicken and stringbeans before too long here. Have a road trip coming up this weekend then three four-day weeks in a row. Very exciting. Siren.Mosin said: » Oh dame, I think I figured out why I was bleeding gold so bad on civ 5. I didn't understand that luxury resources & other improved tiles give you gold as well, so I was prioritizing road construction, with no money to pay for it, lol. so I'm kind of a boob, is the moral of the story. But yeah, that will definitely do it, glad you fixed the issue. If you ever have any questions, I have a decent grasp on the game so feel free to hit me up. Edit: I forgot to mention, when you connect a city to your capital via road or harbor, they get a gold and production boost. It isn't very well explained in the game. Asura.Dameshi said: » Ah the road trap. In Civ III, build roads on every tile because they're free :D. Civ V on the other hand... dem roads. I only ever build direct routes from city to city, and even then I cringe at the bill lol. Roads drastically increase your profits between cities that have a traderoute. If you have at least 1 luxury resource then that covers the cost of pretty much all of your roads and then the more commerce buildings you make the more you profit. Traderoute math.
Gold output = (City population * 1.1) + (Capital population * 0.15) - 1 a city with 4 citizens produces 4.3 gold per turn, while a city with 5 citizens produces 5.4 gold per turn. You only pay for roads inside your boarders. Any roads built in another players boarders goes to their tax and repair upkeep. In my last game my average trade route was worth 34 gold per turn. I had 9 traderoutes active. also I believe roads let your cities share resources? Like if you find Salt at cities #3, and you have a road conencting city 3, 2, 1 then city 2 and 1 also get salt. new HDD came in Monday, been slowly uninstalling games and random stuff. need to finish my torrent list and backup all my files before I do a clean re-install, hopefully by fri-sat.
really getting tired of those random USB disconnects, mainly my headset and mouse, which makes games unplayable at times, especially if it kicks in in crucial times. ocne this is fixed, i'd be up for some civ v Bismarck.Dreadnot said: » Traderoute math. My first game of Civ 5 I was bleeding gold like crazy because I was playing it like Civ 4. I lost within 2 hours.
Then I learned of the magic that is the trade route and all was happy in the land. I built an army of death robots and smote that *** Gandhi. Bismarck.Misao said: » what kind of issues? obligatory "have you tried turning it off and on again?" Last night I booted up CS:GO, nothing happened. So I chalked it up to Valve/Steam bullshittery and fired it up again after making sure it was closed. It booted, and as soon as the beginning company credits finished, it went to black screen and my computer locked up. So I shut it down, booted up, and played CS:GO with no problems. Then later last night, I was on Skype and playing LoL. We were in team select for a custom game, when all of a sudden I heard Skype close. I clicked on it to see what happened, then my screen went super crazy and pc shut down. When I booted it back up, it wanted me to insert boot media... so I shut it down and it started just fine. This sounds like HDD or graphics card IMO (well the boot media issue not graphics). Graphics card should be fine, it's pretty new and I've had 0 problems. I'm going to double check all connections tonight and make sure my liquid cooling & fans are all functioning properly again. Maybe the HDD cable is just a tad loose, since I did move my pc for a mini-LAN on Friday. Otherwise, I think the HDD may be faulty, or something. hmm
checked power management? make sure it doesnt turn off when XXXX happens make sure you have updates NOT on automatic, cause sometimes that makes a system reboot. sure it is not overheating, or have the appropriate PSU juicing your system ? also make sure the plugs on wiring arent broken on both ends. "Something os wrong with my computer" *explains issue*
"Well it could be your hard drive or mobo...or ram...or..." *proceeds to list every component and driver in your rig* #JustHardwareTroubleshootingThings Bismarck.Dreadnot

Re-seat your videocard and ram and dust your case out with a leafblower (canned air works too...) and watch to see if the fan on your videocard is working. Half of those problems happened to me when the fan on one of my older cards stopped working.

It shouldn't be overheating, but I want to double check all fans are functioning. I upgraded the PSU a couple years back so I should have enough juice, never had problems with old HDD. I'll check plugs again, didn't notice any on Friday when I had it opened but I also wasn't looking for that specifically. I also can't verify windows because my multi-use key is at max. I used to get around that with the phone verification, but it won't give me that option anymore. I'm not actually over the usage amount but Micro$oft thinks I am :/ Bismarck.Dreadnot said: » Re-seat your videocard and ram and dust your case out with a leafblower (canned air works too...) and watch to see if the fan on your videocard is working. The trouble with carpooling to the job is that two of the guys I'm with are gambling addicts. I rarely (basically never) go to casinos. "Uhh, you wanna stop at the casino on the way home?" Really? "Hell no, I don't find giving my money away fun I have stuff to pay and more enjoyable stuff at home to do that doesn't cost me a damn dime."
They spend hundreds of dollars a year at casinos, I bought Oblivion for $17 like 6 years ago and I'm pretty content playing that when I get home. I should just start driving myself. EDIT: Also I'm covered in specks of concrete and I want to get home to take a shower. Jimmies Status: Rustled Alternator in my truck is faulty...so..
the issue with my PC, as I mentioned, are the USB's
more specifically, the Mouse and Headset. I doubt it is the MOBO, because I have switched USB ports on them multiple times. Keyboard, External HDD, Gamepad seem unaffected, but then again, (asides E.HDD) have pauses between usage, so it might be harder to notice. I do get the disconnect/reconnect sound every time it happens. -hmm should check Logitech software- also, havent been noticing lately, mainly cause i have payed more attention to my ps4 over pc, that I get some visual freezes in games, for like a second or less, then resumes and skips ahead to where it should be. this is extremely annoying, especially pairing it with the USB issue, when playing League or an FPS. I know it is not the videocard, because I had the issue with my old one, and (while not as frequent) happens with the new one as well. I did read it is partially the SSD fault, so here is hoping. It is what it is. A few hundred dollars is, at least, pretty insignificant (by comparison) to some addictions. As long as that money isn't the baby's checkup money or the gas bill or w/e...but still. =\ "I'm just taking $20 in there, it'll only take like 15 mins." Means "I'll stop at $50." Which usually takes 30-45 mins.
