I was thinking... hell... janitors in chicago make like 80k a year and he could still dispense his wisdom ala the janitor from "The Breakfast Club"
but then I googled it in and learned they are in the process of being replaced with subcontractors from aramark...

Around here many of the janitors -- especially in state/local government buildings, but others too -- are part-timers hired through staffing associations for people with retardation/learning disabilities/other physical or mental handicaps.
Which...I dunno, man. I'm all about helping everyone works who wants to, but it can get really, really annoying having someone who doesn't understand the concept of "personal space" picking up your trash by saddling up practically into your lap to grab the trash can.
I've taken to setting my trash can out at the end of my desk when they come by so they can just pick it up, but they still trying to put it back under my desk instead of leaving it where they found it...
And you should hear some of the horror stories about where my wife works. The lab uses the same staffing group, but they get some of the real pieces of work. Like, people who will stand and polish the same counter for two hours straight and then when you ask them to move along they try telling the staffing agency that you're harassing them...

We both work in facilities with privacy restrictions. Hers has always been like that for that reason, Our cleaners here used to come in after hours but it was decided that was a risk to client privacy, so now they've got to be here while we're here to make sure they're not snooping around. In her case she works at a state police facility. This happened at the same time it was decided our security guards needed to be armed, so we went from a very alert, well-trained, friendly security staff without guns to a dim-witted, grumpy, nearly-somnolent security staff with guns.
