Overseas is probably the best way to put it.

I probably don't have to tell you that she's definitely going to go shopping while there.

EU is always ahead in fashion. Those impulse buys! Also, food smuggling!
It was somewhat shocking to see how some of the prices on things were either vastly different or not much different at all. It is a bit strange when some things are price competitive, but we pay 25% tax on it.
Also, tipping and not including tax is annoying.

Well, crap! How many bags are we talking here? Are you all temporarily moving the household for two weeks?

A week's worth of clothes.

Washer, dryer and an iron are probably available.

Maybe one or two dressy-dresses. Just in case she wants to go paint the town.

Ugh! I'm turning into my mom!
/agrees with Z on all points

Roll your clothes when packing! It really does save on space and irons are pretty much always available.

I love my across the body purse, absolutely perfect for traveling.

Pack for security. If traveling as a couple put all liquids and electronics together (liquids in one bag and all electonics in another). Makes it easier to just plop those down in those stupid grey bins. Can always seperate out after security.

Babies:
Have one diaper per hour of traveling. It's overkill but better safe than sorry.

Take an extra change of clothes for the parents in case baby has an accident all over you.

Pouch babyfood is awesome to travel with.

Ehhh...You should be good then, if there's not too much temptation. Nix the double-suitcase method then.

My survivalist packing methods are frowned upon. When we went to Hawaii a few years ago, I nearly spent the first night sleeping on the beach for stuffing socks into all the little corners of leftover space. I keep trying to point out the life skills I've learned from video games, but apparently, Tetris'ing the luggage is a bad example.

We were at a mexican restaurant:

I ordered a margarita on the rocks with salt.

The waiter asked me what size

Me: "size? medium I guess."

Waiter: "so you want 20oz?"

Me: "what!"

Waiter: "we have 12, 20, and 32oz"

Me: "o.o 32oz....seriously? I'll take 12oz"

Stopped at one of those, they had a pretty decent kung pao. Enough food to feed about four people, but still.

It's always been really hit and miss with them... sometimes the food is decent and sometimes it's been in the steam tray so long it's changed color palettes

I've had 1.5 liters of beer in one setting (football game, 3 half liter beers). And the hangover that went with it.

An almost 1 liter margarita hangover I can pass on =/

Panda is basically a guaranteed "better than starving" meal. I still say it's better than the fast food alternatives, if having a real meal isn't an option for some reason.

I hardly drink anymore, but I have vividly blacked out the days when if offered 2 or more sizes I always chose the largest.

I meant amateur by not assuming whatever the smallest size was, that it was probably still more than you needed. That's the American way.

So which are worse than starving? I'm guessing waffle house/taco bell/arby's/hardee's/denny's are honorable mention, but what else?

I was going with things like McDonald's, Burger King, etc. I'd put Arby's on the survival list, along with Denny's, IHOP, or other roadside diner types. I figure if you're driving through, you're probably on a road trip or something like it and traditional diners aren't nearby. Fast food isn't much cheaper than a real meal, so time or access has to be the reason for it.

That said, I actually like IHOP style restaurants. In and out quickly, generally pretty clean, decent food, decent price, and I know I can get something I like there. If I can't have a home-cooked meal for whatever reason, those are the kind of places I look for.
