What's really nice is lounging on the hammock at night watching their aerial assault.
Actually, there's an overpass on I-35 where there is a slew of bats that come out as a swarm at dusk. Even being thirty minutes North I still see those little *** from Spring until Fall. They're tiny though.
I know Volk lives on the westside near Lake Travis/Marble Falls area. I bet he's seen them flitting about too.

we pay for apprenticeships for the guys here, & If I feel like I want to go to some conference or some ***, the company foots the bill.

Idk about how much money or time we're talking about in your case, maybe it's prohibitively expensive... Not necassarily... a good employer *** the needs and means of the company before making decisions like that...
It's one thing to supply what is needed to complete the actual job at hand but if its not necassarily needed then it might not be worth it to them... not only that but sometimes the extra certifications lead to people then looking for more money or a promotion. We had a guy do that here nad then when he didn't get it left... he had been here for 5 years at the time... used that extra cert to find a better position elsewhere...
It's not as simple as just saying hey you should do this for me.

I went spelunking with my HS sweetheart once (I repeat, ONCE!). We were in a section where ground to ceiling it was only maybe four feet. We sat down for some water, and while he was fumbling through the backpack, I got spooked by a bat that was inches from my head. They do look a lot bigger.

Artem is the wayward soul that makes you ponder the meaning of life by constantly reminding us life can suck. But he deals, and so do we. About the same for Savannah, except people are more "AWH!" to her because of a vagina involved.
Dasva is the ex military man (as is Krizz but this doesn't apply to him) who hates the world and plots a way to destroy most of it.
Number2 is kinda like a mix between Cai and I; never bashes, likes to laugh and has odd avatars. His current suits a lot of the convos this LS gets into. Barti is most well known for his moustache. He gives mousatche rides for a fee. I'm missing a few people but whatever. CARRY ON!
