Fingercicles are the best natural form of harassment of a spouse or loved one. :)

Excellent. We already had to move the hoppy into the relocation program.

If you aren't past the bizarre craving phase...

If she sends you out for ice cream also buy french fries.
it will save you a trip.

no you don't. I type like a sailor!
It was a Paul Rudd gif. My brain has been collapsing in on itself. EDIT: I've been trying to cut my sailoresque mouth down to a minimum. I can foresee the casual cursing becoming a problem. DOUBLE EDIT: Well, I should clarify...Sailoresque thoughts...The mouth is somewhat more controllable.
I'm not even allowed to swer in my brothers house anymore because he doesn't want his unborn child to hear my foul mouth. It's been rough.

Dear Kara:

Please do these two things for me. 1.) Get a good night of sleep, it's the last one you will get without the use of drugs or alcohol for the next twenty years.
Lol. Yeah, should be interesting (that word should cover multiple meanings, from good - bad, to weird).

Quote:
2.)PLEASE Schedule a anesthesiologist to be there for the delivery.

he has a dollar for everyone that thought they could deliver naturally... (it's up to 47 million dollars.....now)
and then sold their soul to the debil to get him there in an emergency.

Natural.... I can hear him laughing and rubbing his ice cold hands together from here!

:p We'll see how it goes. As my midwife said, never rule anything out. If the labor goes on too long (my sister-in-law gave birth after 35 hours in December) then I might have to use the drugs. I just prefer being able to move around when in pain so not being confined in bed is my goal, at least until the big pushing starts.

But, here, it is quite common (at least in recent years and among my crazy friends/acquaintances) to use no pain medicine until after labor then it's all "bring it on".

I'm very disappointed that I never got to experience this.

I threw-up well into my 2nd trimester and it seems I missed this. Although, I did get to experience how stuff I used to love (fish, I hate fish right now) tasted bad or weird.

I didn't either. I never really had Braxton-Hicks contractions, or they were so faint that I didn't notice.

The only food aversion I had was to the scent of fried food.

I've only had a couple of braxton-hicks so far, but they weren't really painful, just restrictive. My-soon-to-be-daughter didn't like them so she punched/kicked me until they stopped. Feisty, she is.

I was really amazed at how finicky I got about food. Irrational aversions.

Nononono.

I've been exposed to too many "births gone bad" (no deaths just lots of complications) to ever willingly place myself away from the trained doctors.

How was your labor?

what name are you thinking?

We have some Russian/slavic "K" names picked out for the first name (not quite decided) and a traditional Danish girl name for the middle (probably Maja, pronounced Miya).

Awww...A girl? D'awww! Nik overlooked that factor when it comes to sleep deprivation while pregnant.

How was your labor?

Okay. I was thrown off by the mid-wife.

The contractions started in the late afternoon, and unfortunately, since it was my first, I kind of dismissed them in the beginning think that maybe they were Braxton-Hicks. I have a tendency to minimalize physical pain for whatever reason because I think I have a high pain tolerance, or at least that's what I tell myself.

From afternoon to about dinner time, they became more intense but were still "faint" in my head. They were becoming more evenly timed though, and all I wanted to do was stand. After cleaning up, I paced around the house for an hour-and-a-half, which made my fiance really nervous and agitated (The agitation because of my stubbornness. LOL!), so he suggested we go walk around in Target or just do something, anything really, to take both of our minds off of it before we definitely knew.

By the time we arrived at Target, it had intensified to where I was finally caved. (I really should have not dismissed the contractions earlier because, if I remember correctly, it was no more than a week before when my OB manually ripped the uterine lining to naturally induce (because now it is believed that potocin induction could have a hand in autism, amongst every other thing under the sun).

It gets a little fuzzy after the first epidural, but all in all it took ten hours after I was in the hospital. I was out the day after.
