when people try to strike up conversations with me, at, say, in line to check out at the grocery store... I had already been mistaken for some little girls grandpa in the flower section "hey grandpa! can we buy some flowers!" <adam's family lurch disgruntled noise> and then I noticed myself shuffling behind some old couple and taking just as long as they did to pick something out.

and of course I forgot the bananas so I ended up on the opposite side of the store from where I usually check out so I am geographically uncomfortable...

and this old guy keeps trying to start a conversation with me.... "I guess I will stand right behind you" he says.

"sure are a lot of people here today...must be a big game later on"

And I am thinking to myself I DON"T NO ABOUT ANY GAMES. BUT GDI IT'S ALWAYS CROWDED AT THIS TIME ON SUNDAY. as i was cursing myself for sleeping late and not getting there sooner...

but god bless him he just keeps trying. Now, MOST people get the hint that I am not interested in talking to them. Hell, MOST people don't even try. When they they insist I fix them with my icy cold stare of a maniac, you know the one that says I have the means and ability to hunt you down and carve your whole family into bite sized pieces and the only thing missing is a reason ANY REASON AT ALL

but his eyes are too busy scanning around the store to process this information and he keeps talking about how crowded it is and how his pizza is getting cold.. "I suppose I could just eat it now.....but then I would have to share" and great, now he is talking to himself....

as he continues on in this monologue for what seems like an eternity I notice his cart is practically empty a piece of pizza in a box maybe two other things... is he looking for a cut in line?... wait a minute...why the *** is he all the way over here in a full cart line, on this side of the store, near produce when there are four 20 item or less registers on the other side of the store WHERE THE PIZZA IS. How the hell did he even get over here and more importantly why? and why is he nervous and talking to himself. why does he want to start a conversation with everyone in the store!?

then the cashier asks how my sunday is going and I say Fine, thank you curt, like always. Very professional, very courteous. I don't have the time or inclination for small talk. And she gets it. but she has to ask a question so she reluctantly says "would you like your meat in a separate bag?

I'll bag... (having moved to the end of the belt) I say but while I am saying it crazy guy has taken the position next to the register where you would make out a check if anyone did that anymore... and he is interrupting trying to talk to her while she is talking to me. A short phrase I don't catch. Well at least she won't try to talk to me any more...

but she is trying to thank me for bagging and the guy interrupts her again with the same phrase and I can see she is a little frazzled anyways because it's busy and this weird guy keeps interrupting. and she says "What?" finally distracted by the creep enough that she has to talk to him. Then I catch him saying something like "that's what you name means in spanish" he is leaning in using the check signing stand as an arm rest or perhaps more like the edge of the bar.. he is staring at her.... deeply

sweet creeping jesus he is hitting on her!!! that's why the pizza, that's why he is on the wrong side of the store, that's why he wants to appear as if he is talking to me. that's why he wants cuts. this creepy *** is stalking this cashier!!! I felt like imitating ace ventura and accusing and confronting him loudly right there in the store...

but I didn't. the cashier shot me a look of terror and I nodded acknowledging her fear, yes, this is really happening...hit the panic button... she was still all bug eyed when I left, he was still hitting on her like some he was some creep at the lizard lounge in 1972 and she was the bar maid...

But I had my own problems, the "big game" was coming on... maybe...
I don't know... I couldn't be forced at gun point to even pretend to give a ***.

I had to get pugilist to 15 to unlock bard! show off my new pink shirt... finish the hunting log.... I can read about her abduction/disappearance later in the week...

they're like bizarre little anti fairy tales where everyone dies and cinderella just ends up cleaning up someone else's floors and wondering what the point of it all is.... happily ever after!? her father in law is a drunk, her mother in law is psycho and the whole family crumbles around her and tries to drag her down into the pit of despair... the "hero" is insane and spends most of the time not knowing which way to point his shotgun. prince charming...pfft yeah right, the white horse was rented and he thinks the windmill is a dragon...

And for Saeval to make an overtly racist comment about Africa then back-peddle?
