heyo all. I had to drive to a silly town for a meeting.
I also want to say, I will be purchasing this beauty this evening, so I may not be around much LoL for a while.
as for my rant about construction for Z, as promised,
So I work in Heating, Cooling & Plumbing, to set the stage. my partner that I bid jobs with (he does plumbing, I do heating/cooling) was complaining about his office being hot. I went over there, & to my suprise his office was a good 10+ degrees warmer than the rest of the building.
now, this is where I had an obvious devirgance in my thinking from the rest of society, I guess I believe that you should take pride in your work. I would think that since this is our bread & butter, the system at home should function. right?
well I started dicking around with things, checking dampers, filters, ect. well it wasn't any of the usual culprits. so I go back to our service dept. to ask for some help going through the rooftop unit. (I'm terrible with electricity, & do not have tools @ work anymore) & let me tell you friends, it was like trying to move a *** mountain. the lazy bastardo in charge of the dept. looks at me & says "well jose will be back in a bit" I couldn't believe my ears. you would think that a person would have a modicum of pride in what they did, or in lieu of that, at least a desire to look like they're useful to someone who could potentially decide thier employment future. at that point, I lost my cool a bit, & asked if he wanted me to call the competition to help me go through the unit, & he could explain the invoice to our pres.
I think I may have overstepped my bounds by quite a bit. I don't care at the same time. /shrug I miss being 21 with no responsibilities.

It's probably a simple matter. Is he is keeping his office door closed? I do that in my office when I want to warm it up. The return is in the hallway so I can make my mouse hole nice and toasty!

I always wanted to use a fire extinguishers!!!" He put the fire out and went right back to pitching the machine to his prospect. Blamed the fire on himself for having the "Midas Touch in reverse" and went back at it. He is the incredible unflappable man. Nothing can ruffle him.
What he would do in your situation is go into the boss' office and tell the boss he is concerned about jose. And then have Jose brought in and praise jose's good work and then ask jose why he is "under so much pressure" and seems to be doing "double duty" lead Jose to bashing his supervisor for being a lazy douche... and then ask your boss what he thinks the company should do about it.
You are merely the facilitator.
Mike persuaded a customer to help him get rid of a lazy technician once. The tech was a lazy douche and deserved to be fired, but that is not what got him fired. Mike wouldn't have cared if he slept all day, every day. What forced Mike to move was the customer was reluctant to make a purchase because he didn't like the tech.
So Mike had the customer send him an email that the customer was concerned the tech wasn't working the hours he was billing for
and it was going to cost them his business.
Mike takes the email to his boss and says something like "you know how much I like andre and respect his work, but I just got this email from an important client you may want to look at....
Right and so the way it was worded with one email the customer hit the unholy trinity, over billing the customer, over charging the company for hours you never worked and costing the company a customer...
Andre was fired before he could ever make it back to the office to defend himself. Security wouldn't even let him in to clock out or get his things.
Mike took the order from the customer to the boss the next day and never felt a bit bad about any of it.

The last time NYC had a blackout and some of the stores tried gouging batteries and flashlights they got a taste of street justice. Broken windowfronts and getting dog ***thrown at you doesn't seem worth the few dollars you'll make on jacking batteries up from 4 to 8 bucks a pack.
