And yes, I was doing "homework." It's almost done! The only thing left to do is put up a fence. Then, if there's time, I'm going to pave paradise and put up a parking lot.

I never enjoyed writing essays in Japanese. :x Though I do miss learning the language. :/ Wish I had tried harder in high school...

According to my TEL education professor yesterday, he said that there will be some students who no matter what you do, they will refuse to do their work, pay attention or even behave respectfully. And at a certain point, you have to identify this and simply do your best to make sure this person doesn't interfere with everyone else's learning experience.

Do I? Simply because I don't care about your complaints I would fail as a teacher?

While a teacher's job is to educate their students they are not necessarily required to bend to their every whim when it comes to the types of assignments they give. Remember those English teachers who assigned you to read and write essays on books you did not enjoy in the slightest? Perfect example.

Don't get me wrong, making an activity that your students find interesting and engaging is good as it keeps the students interested and can help with the learning process, but it by no means is a requirement. ^.^

I don't always do my work, but I do everything in my power to pay attention and behave respectfully. Even if I'm not giving something my all I see no reason to interrupt the rest of the class's work. :x
