And the reason why I use it is cuz It's a great name and I don't have to think about other names that prolly won't be taken. (Kalyna's a rare name that I'm 99% most likely able to get it one way or another, like on GW2, it's Kalyna Ariana since I can have a last name too, and it's easy to remember since my FFXIV char is the same name)

I never got the whole desire to play as a female character either though...
Why would I want to play a male character? I mean, ew. Especially Hume. *** Hume. So ugly. And it's FFXI, I needed at least something to keep me interested in the game, so why not stare at a mithra's *** while she's running (and watching her tail wag while running)
Are you sure you're a man? Also, I'm just assuming this, but you'd never played the game before picking a mithra... and aren't you a female in 14 and GW2? So it can't just be 11 lol...

I played XI before, as a Mithra with the same name on, I believe it was Quetzalcoatl but my PC wasn't up to par at the time so it lagged like crazy.
Also XI wasn't my first MMO. EQOA (PS2) was the first MMO i actually played for more than a week and my first char was a male (and my highest level too, Dark Elf Cleric.) it was boring playing him (but being a cleric, i always got invited to level so I played as him mostly) God that was long ago. Males just look ugly to me, especially since most MMOs are running simulators most of the time)
The next Online RPG game I played was PSU (note: I never actually played PSO cuz I didn't have a Dreamcast. I wanted to play it but It was either PS2 or DC at the time and I picked PS2 cuz of the FF series and it was a better console.) I first made a male newman techer cuz I thought it would be like mage but it really was just boring so i made a female cast gunner and the fact that you can change body proportions was just *** awesome. Big boobed cast.
And ever since PSU, I've just liked making female characters. Especially GW2. Female Sylvari's voice is so hot.
