I will be the first to admit I don't spank my son, but the reason is because he learns nothing from it. I was at my wits end when we moved here and tried everything ... the only thing that works on him is to take away whatever it is that is he completely into at that time.
The best one yet was to take away his new belt before he had even gotten it. He passed the test but had to wait a week to be awarded it.

my oldest is 10, she's maybe been spanked once. my tone of voice seems to get me any desired response. the 6 yr-old never has pressed her luck that far, but seriously people need bounderies, & you bet your sweet *** I'll draw those lines however I need too.
I, also, couldn't give any less of a *** what people do with thier kids. but if you asked me wheather or not to spank your kids that were throwing rocks at passing traffic, I'd say yar.

I want to go to Oktoberfest as well, but we would need to find a sitter for the weekend to do so ... I have never had my child stay with a sitter over night, so not sure how I feel about that =/
