Flat rate boxes are usually 2 days 3 tops I think, IDK you'd have to ask Meshi he knows that better than the rest of us.

So...Reading my Bio syllabus....

It's easy to screw someone out of points on their lab assignment...

Lab discussions are worth 15 points. If nobody responds to your post, it's an automatic 5 point deduction...

Guess which person was the only one to not get a response this week....

USPS flat rate boxes do arrive surprisingly quickly and are cheap. UPS and FedEx will most likely be more, especially if shipping to a residential zone (it's like a $3 extra charge just because it's residential lol) and the speed would probably be about the same.

Plus of course not having an account with them drives the price up as well. So honestly, USPS flat rate box would be the way to go.

Edit: If it's a short distance, Priority Regional boxes would be worth looking into. They're cheaper than the flat rate if it's not too far.

FedEx accounts take all of two minutes. I also don't notice a difference in price. The nice thing is I don't have to pay right when I print the shipping labels. It simply places a balance on my account. I always pay it the same day, but I dunno how much time you're actually given.

I meant like a business account :P
We just switched to FedEx at work so I'm not sure how much of a discount it is over not having a business account.

Yeah, I know what you meant. I've never touched the finance side of a business account, only requested labels.

Liela, I gotta run something by you since you're the most similar person to this girl that I can go to for advice.

So this girl is feeling down, I figure sending a care package is a good idea. Yay or nay?

If yay, what should I send her?

If yay or nay, what is something I can do to cheer her up?

I'm going to say if it's something small and sweet, yes. If you are thinking something big or dramatic, no, she might think you are trying too hard or think she's expected to make it up to you.

As for what to send, do you know what her favorite flower is? Or her favorite sweet? A single bloom of her favorite flavor is a much sweeter and more personal gesture than a bouquet of them. So say, one pink rose or whatever she likes. If she likes a certain candy, that's always good. Or you could do something as small as taking her out for coffee and listening to her problems. Listen, but don't try to fix them. That's where guys usually go wrong. Girls don't always want a logical list of things they could do to end their problems, they just want someone to pay attention to them and listen.

We're in different states at the moment, else I'd take her out for coffee to listen.

I was thinking some candy and a letter. Nothing too amazing, just maybe a pack or two of something she likes and a letter.

Unfortunately, I do not have a very firm grasp on the female mind, and so I was worried that something about that may go catastrophically.

That's a good idea. Bonus points if the letter is hand-written! ^^ By the way, just because I'm terribly nosy, what's your connection to her? Is she just a friend, a sister, a cousin, someone you'd like to date eventually?

I had to look those people up. xD I'm woefully uninformed. So she's someone you used to love but are now just close friends with? You have all kinds of wiggle room then! She already trusts you and you already have a soft spot in her heart. You can't do much of anything that she'd find catastrophically bad. ~.^

I mean, you could still piss her off, but usually once a girl is good friends with a guy, she's going to forgive almost anything.

Anyhow, some candy and a letter is a really sweet idea. I bet she will love it!

We had a brief dating stint. It burned and crashed worse then the Hindenburg. Then we didn't talk because I'm an idiot. Now we talk a lot again.

I guess the easiest way to describe who we are to each other is that she's the only person who's seen the things I don't show anyone, and I know her best and care about her most.

But the ship has sailed.

Oh Xueye! That is so sad. :-( You should tell her that. Not the ship has sailed part, it's mildly corny, but that she's the one you care about the most. But if you do tell her, do it gently, in between talking of other things.

For the record, I'm being over-dramatic. We were an awful couple. Two inexperienced, socially awkward kids that thought we were as deep as Shakespeare's finest for each other.

I'm good at the writing bit, at least. She'll cry no matter what I write.

If you don't take the initiative to speak your mind both of you will just drift further apart, and it will just be another door closed to a possibly great relationship. The more you ponder if you should or should not do it the faster that she moves on with her life. I've let it happen to me more than once and I regret it.
