Shooters + Bad internet connection = Baddddddddddd lol
Needler was so deadly in Halo 1, but in 2 they severely gimped it. It made a nice return in 3, but still not as powerful as it once was =(.
We are shockingly similiar in our play style. I think if i had played more games though you would probably see a shift towards more sniper though, but then again halo 3 wasn't as sniper friendly as halo 2.

I was never good at sniper, but made a good person to hold the opposing teams when we got it.
H2 Coagulation was my favorite to sneak up to the opposing team's tele and wait for their sniper to go through. Take their sniper and play base defense rest of the game.

Snipers don't kill me. Only way people every killed me was melee :/ which is whats annoying about halo, charge w/ AR zipline melee rush lol.

AR is supposed to rip apart a BR at close range, but funny how BR can win most of the time.

Oh ya...I would run the cliff and wait by the rocket ammo. Most of the team would run for rockets with the sniper solo to cover them. Once they die, they usually grab a banshee to find me omw back to the base to get their sniper back. That's all I did. I defend very well, but suck at doing offense.
It would be cool if there was a way to see if we ever played with each other. I don't think there is a search for that though.

Well for H2 there isn't since they purge the records. Last time I played H2 was years ago. Check Phatspade.
