I should be able to use items on the enemy in Pokemon. This Giratina keeps getting into Struggle mode and killing itself so I don't have much time to catch it each time ._. I'd toss it an Elixer if possible.

Anywho, how is everyone?

I've though about that too, when I accidentally poison something I wanted to sleep.

I'm a little bit sad/angry... LS drama, but everyone in the LS said "OMG LIL GUNNA *** ON FFXIAH" so now I can't even do that cuz they'd be right ><
i need to bust in there? :O i'll take em all on

lol thanks but I think I may just need to find a new LS. I like a lot of the people in the one I am in but the pros vs cons list is getting more and more unbalanced as time goes on :(

It's mostly my problem though for playing as a loldnc.

Most of them are very skilled in my mind, but some people take that ability as open license to treat other people like dirt, instead of teaching others and making things better all around. But that is a small number of them and for the most part they are great people which I why I am still there.

Why does everyone hate on grass pokemon anyway? I always found water to be the most useless of the pokemons because they lose 2 moves to HMs.

Lol@teaching Starters/Main Party Pokemon HMs outside of Surf since Surf rapes and maybe Fly pre-endgame since it's somewhat needed.

Grass Pokemon are generally useless in competitive situations. For the game itself, you can have a Grass type. Online/Battle Frontier, people will have just about anything that'll rape a Grass type.

Water type is staple for just about any party. Waterfall / Dive / Whirlpool always go to an HM slave, except sometimes Waterfall instead of Surf is the Water type is more Physical than Special.

Very, very few Grass types that are useful, like Exeggutor.

Okay first of all... Pokemon has endgame?

HM slave? I am starting to think I go about pokemon all wrong. I definitely don't have room for a HM slave in my party, do you do it that way or keep one in a box and use it when you need it or something?

I thought the end of the game was when you beat the elite four, what the hell is battle frontier?

Using 5 serious pokemon instead of 6 means each of your actual pokemon get like 20% more exp, so it evens out.

Plus you don't have to waste move slots on HMd.

I tried it. I found it pretty horribad, at least in comparison to Infernape. One of the better Grass types, though.

After you beat the Elite Four, usually there's a new area you can access and then there's the Battle Frontier. I think I explained this before.

http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Battle_Frontier_%28Generation_IV%29

Think of it as a built-in Pokemon Stadium/Coliseum. Lots of rewards like boss move tutors and hold items.

An HM slave is that one Pokemon you have in your party that can learn a bunch of HMs. Take Bibarel for instance (lolBidoof's evolution). It can learn Cut, Surf, Waterfall, Whirlpool/Dive (depending on the version), Strength, Rock Smash, and Rock Climb. You'd walk around with this Pokemon in your team to get through caves and areas that would require about 2~3 of these at once. I usually only have 5 people since the last person I want on my team is usually post endgame, so I always have an HM slave with me.

Even if you have 6 people in your team already, you would just sacrifice one and box it for the next dungeon and replace it with the HM slave.

So how do you go about picking your team? I have always tried to have one of each main element. For example the team I had just before I reset my game (level 25-30ish and 7/8 badges)

Ponyta
Croconaw - surf, whirlpool
Weepinbell - cut and sleep move
Mew
Dratini
Sudowoodo - strength, rocksmash

So I had Grass, Water, Electric (dratiini had thunder), fire, psychic, ground, fighting, darkness, and dragon.

Not my ideal team but I had my bases, and HM moves for the most part covered. Now I kinda doubt everything I know about pokemon though :(

I'm the kind that will sit there trying to get a good nature on my starter. That's the impact endgame had on me. ; ;

Took me about 50 soft resets to get the nature I wanted xD
Gotta love being somewhat hardcore.

You've got the right idea with balancing. Now, next step if you care is actually researching which Pokemon of each type is actually useful. Victreebell is actually pretty good, just only learns Grass / Poison type moves, putting it in a bind against many types.

Staple types:

Fire
Water

Anything else is up to you (probably Flying as well since you always need Fly pre-endgame)

In your case, Rapidash is a pretty bad choice for a fire type. If you can, get a Magmar and trade and trade back with someone (I can if you need someone) to get a Magmortar once you get the item to do so.

A Dark, Ghost, or Psychic type is also recommended since they make fantastic sweepers*.

*Sweepers - a Pokemon designed to take enemies out in one hit and have extremely low defense, which shows since they have very high attack, such as Gengar and Alakazam.

Bulbapedia will be your friend.

Use the tables provided on the right: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Psychic_%28type%29
Scan through what interests you.

Okay, I admit, you do notice the difference when you're playing later.

It's when you save after each optimal catch before going on to the next one that it becomes neurotic, lawl.

Took me about 2 hours to get a Ralts with the right nature for my Gallade on Platinum xD

It makes a huge difference. I can't be bothered to EV train though.

I used to try that for in-game.

That worked out well trying to grind my starter on Wingulls for Speed EVs early on. ~.~

Lolz, just play with whatever you want, it doesn't matter in-game.

If you have any interest in battling other people competitively though, wait until after you've had all your fun.

You fight too many different trainers to EV train in-game. I'll try my best to match up, but I can't jeopardize tough battles just to get +2 Spec. Att EVs, lol.
