when my dad had a buncha kitties at his hoose they'd always unplug the tv.
i'd have to stay there every so often and it'd piss me off to no end, espeically if it was during something i had set to record ---

I was thinking about playing FFXI again, but completely starting a new character on a different server where I know barely anyone. And then I just wanted to play it like it was at 75, with my fiance and her brother. Was just wondering if non-Abyssea areas' exp gains have been affected, and some other stuff.

You're both missing the point. Just because everyone else is doing Abyssea, doesn't mean there's nothing else that exists in the game. I want to play again, but I want to play it like it's 2006, when it was all still fun.
Edit: And I wouldn't mind doing Abyssea, but the idea is that we trio'd just about everything at 75 so we'd probably only do Abyssea stuff that we could trio, assuming there is anything like that.

Again, it's not something that's out of the question, I was just wondering if it's still the same as it was when I quit OUTSIDE of Abyssea. Like is the exp cap still 300 at LV75? We obviously would be going to 99 eventually, but I see no reason to enjoy it the same way we did when we actually did enjoy it.

XI is fun lowman in abyssea, but I really don't find abyssea parties fun and since I'm not @ the highest level I kinda don't like it atm.
Maybe when new stuff comes out.

they made it so that all mobs that check to lvl 75 as easy prey stay that way for higher levels.
that's something of note i can mention.
as to pre-75 content...it's pretty much the same outside of uncapped areas and being void of life past trials.

That actually sounds pretty cool. Ideally I was hoping it would be like a private server, except with a working AH and stuff. What about past HNMs? Fafnir still overcamped? I wouldn't imagine so, since Twilight Mail > Adaman Hauberk, and is apparently easily soloable.

The problem is they haven't really added anything outside of abyssea... except a very small amount of normal mobs to skillup on but I don't think there is anything worthwhile to xp on at even 80.
And since almost all old gear is outdated no one is doing camping old stuff outside of a few items that a few people want

I really couldn't say much for Faf compared to before cuz i haven't checked....but yup.
everything is easier and harder at the same time pretty much lol.

I was just thinking like, taking FFXI less seriously. I want it to feel like a normal game where you can go places and have fun doing things, rather than waiting 2 hours for a 30 minute event, then waiting 30 minutes for a 4 hour event in the same day.
I take it just about everything outside AV and PW are at least trio-able at LV90 now? NIN/DNC, RDM/WHM, BRD/WHM.
Also, Dynamis still 500k? I can't imagine anyone paying that much for it anymore.

Blu always has been... but the last 2 updates have made it rediculous... especially on old content since the number one killer of blu dmg without SA was lvl correction on pdif when melees could overpower that with attack buffs to an extent

BLU is one of those things that make me want to play again. Looking back, the last thing I was doing before I quit was leveling BLU. I had this idea that a trio of BLUs would be able to survive just about anything, and we were slowly making our way there, but then that level cap came along at the worst possible time for me, when I was like right near that final pull for Maat's Cap.
Now even that is useless, lol. So I don't mind starting a completely new character.

My ls did saremeya awhile back when cap was 85. With only 1 brd and a total of like 9 people we zerged it in maybe 30 seconds... idk I didn't have time to get off all my ja/ws on rng/sam and I topped the parse so idk

Like most linkshells, it can be pretty dead at times. Other times it's full of intense conversations about either rl, gear, goals, pokemon or anything else you want to contribute.

Celene(F) and Rowland(M) are more of the shyer members, but often say things that are witty, have a good pun and sometimes cause three page discussions. Celene hates when people hit on her. It doesn't stop them from trying.
Krizz is just social and likes to kill time here during work Tbest is about the same, except tends to be a douche to guys and affectionate toward girls.
Alyria is the most social female, gets groped a lot without provoking it by others, and Tairo ends up stabbing people for it. Cai is just a barrel of lols, I might be gay for him. If I wasn't straight.
Not sure about Citag, s/he's new. Kiriyu is just an in-out kinda person. Says one thing every three days that every guy makes a big fuss over. Ludoggy gets really defensive since she's asian and underage (might be 18 now).
Artem is the wayward soul that makes you ponder the meaning of life by constantly reminding us life can suck. But he deals, and so do we. About the same for Savannah, except people are more "AWH!" to her because of a vagina involved.
Dasva is the ex military man (as is Krizz but this doesn't apply to him) who hates the world and plots a way to destroy most of it.
Number2 is kinda like a mix between Cai and I; never bashes, likes to laugh and has odd avatars. His current suits a lot of the convos this LS gets into. Barti is most well known for his moustache. He gives mousatche rides for a fee. I'm missing a few people but whatever. CARRY ON!
