4 years ago was quite awhile ago, but even assuming what you say is true, and assuming you never got OT, you should make quite a considerable amount of money since you wouldn't really have much time to go out and spend it, let alone on bills/rent/obligations.

I work 12 hour shifts. If I work 2 1/2 overtime shifts in a week, which people do, that's 80 hours a week.
Really, not that uncommon to see even minimum wage employees' nose pushed to the grindstone, especially when it's family business. If dad can get up for work, so can you. Seen that before, too.

I worked in the customer cabinetry field in my teens, which included 16 hour shifts.
The work included staining, varnishing, sanding, cutting the wood to the proper proportions, and all of these steps had to be repeated multiple times to complete the product.
