The Smilodon is the same as Tiger, but it gives access to Disorienting Wail. Didn't see it mentioned in the OP, just the Byakko variant.

Idk if its been mentioned in here but you do get all your merited stuff at the same normal times you get them on a normal job. So you get your stat merits as you lvl and at Lv75 you unlock the job specific ones. Sadly you cant use any JAs but passive merits like Double attack + and magic merits like AM2 still work.
If anyone have a Twilight Cloak and a BLM mob high enough to use it I'm wondering if you can unlock Impact. However, yes, blue box (large) monsters have limited prowling areas regardless of what they are. A Dhalmel and a Wamoura and a Bugard all have the same limitations.
