It also looks like "MON" might be broken only by PvP:

As the next lines deal with participating in belligerency which "enablest thee to enter combat with adventurers."

The main point being whether or not it's currently accessible is debatable, but it certain does exist as an option.

Well, Square Enix did say 10k Infamy is the cap for Normal Monsters, and in order to go past that you need to PVP.

Welp, I just finished leveling the entire sheep path to 60 and can confirm that doing so gets you absolutely nothing, no quests, no new purchases, nada.

i thought id try and get my tiger to 99 to see if anything would unlock and unfortunately, no exchange quest, no new monster unlock...o well.

The white rabbits "wild Ginseng" is pretty sweet, 100TP for 4 min haste/30hp tic regen nice!

I don't know if it matters, but I have access to the Pygmy Morbol for 7,500 infamy points and my Funguar is lvl 30, not 50.

Soon I'll have 99 on Peiste, and I'm pretty sure it will be followed by multitudes of disappointment.


Edit: The kittens in my heart have died. 99 and nothing. No quest, no infamy purchase, no nothing. ; ; I'll finally give up for now. Been stuck at 10k infamy since level 68 on eft, so I won't waste anymore potential infamy by leveling anything else.

Okay, so I just finally finished unlocking Behemoth.
I have reason to believe the BG wiki list has the correct requirements listed. (75 Gnole + 75 Opo-opo + 75 Rabbit + 10k Infamy)

The person earlier in this thread mentioned needing more than 75 Gnole. I leveled Rabbit last which makes the two clearly required. So if anyone's currently trying to unlock Behemoth and hasn't gotten Opo-opo to 75 yet, you can level it last to confirm the requirements for Behemoth.

Just finished unlocking Behemoth myself. I did opo last to 75 so I can confirm Rabbit 75, Gnole 75 and Opo-opo 75 needed for Behe.

Has anyone heard/seen anything about how to unlock Gnat?

Gnat requires at least one of the 6/8/10 point Vermin (Chigoe, Ladybug, Wamoura, Antlion, and/or Spider) because it is 8/10/12 point costs for Instincts.

AFAIK, no one knows how to unlock it yet. This makes it very likely that it requires Antlion be taken to some level north of 50, as it is the only restricted Blue Box vermin.

Here to confirm, unfortunately, that Manticore is NOT unlocked through 99 Tiger + 99 Coeurl. Not just those two, at least.

I guess now I'm going to try getting all the large beasts to 60. I have a very good feeling about Manticore being related to Cerberus, which I am desperately trying to find.

My guess is it'll be Sheep 75 + Ram and/or Dhalmel 75 = Manticore.
Then Manticore, Buffalo, and Marid 75 = Cerberus.

necroquote but this might actually not be a terrible idea for monster types that can't haste themselves

TP moves are super weak on monsters compared to PC counterparts, especially given how high base DMG seems to be; it seems like it would throw the whole logic behind Haste Uber Alles into question

It appears as though Monster job traits have changed. You no longer gain the traits of the main levels of both jobs. You only gain the traits and job abilities of one job.

Examples:
WAR/RDM bee now has WAR traits and abilities, no RDM traits or abilities
WHM/THF tiger now has WHM traits and abilities, no THF traits or abilities
MNK/WHM mandragora now has MNK traits and abilities, no WHM traits or abilities

The addition of abilities is nice, but the loss of traits kind of sucks... Especially for say Byakko that loses critical attack bonus and triple attack. Also, any of the /BLM monsters that lose Magic Attack Bonus.

Though some are useless lol like Assassin on Byakko since no Trick Attack.
