Hello can capes be given off any Col reive or lair reive? Or can they only be gotten in the three new areas.
Last night while doing a mission in Cirdas Caverns as well as a survey I did solo two of these on sch. But no capes. I know they a low drop rate, but just wondering if they only can be got in new zones. Or if I can get anywhere.

The JSE capes come from any type of Reives in Marjami Ravine or Yorica Weald. The drop rate is low and 100% random.

Someone once said that the cape to be dropped is re rolled if you already have the kind it was supose to drop.
If thats true, dont throw any cape to increase the chance to get your cape.
The same guy said that he was doing 6 hours reive per day and getting 2 capes each, so a lot of work.
Majarmi would be the best bet to do reive due to big number of guys doing, but the problem is getting enough evaluation to get drops.
That's not how it works. You'll just get nothing if the game decides to roll you a cape you've already got.
Yea I been doing rives for about a week now and no cape still so far I got 19\22 capes but that was a week ago its been a week and no other capes dropped its like it completely stop dropping I still need Sam cape any leads or info at all on this please share them I am lost I know its a low drop rate but come on I do revives about everyday for about 2 to 3 hours something has to drop any need on this plz let me know
Can do it as BLU too, bit more involved. Same strategy as always but you'll need more macc for the newer areas.

is't a plugin from Windower 4 called Timers
they probably should of split the capes between the 2 zones so people would been more likely to focus on each zone evenly.

ppl already stopped doing marjami reives in bigger groups on EU prime time, but the idea it ok to narrow down the drop for specific job.
I so want the BST, GEO, and THF... So they give me NIN. Is there any kind of rhyme or reason or suggestions or is it just completely random when these capes drop? I have been doing it at Marjami.

rhyme or reason, lol. This is SE we're talking about. They rather make events so random so your forced to keep trying and keep playing which means keep paying. If they had any positive dev brain cells left, they would have just done a temp KI or something that you can trade an NPC for any cape you desired...
You can do this on DNC in a evasion/haste set as well, takes about 5 minutes. I like to kill a mob or two as well because I'm superstitious and I feel like it helps my cape drop rate... (it also resets your two hour if you use it)
Capes drop on Pyres from EXP mobs in Doh gate (Safe to assume Marjami/Yorcia work as well?) I know it's even more random than Reives but it's another option at least.... If anything you could kill EXP mobs during Reives' cool down (if there is any).

If you're solo'n a reive on pup/bst/smn/mage job, it'd be wise to kill 3-4 regular mobs first before destroying the boulder/etc
I can't tell you how many I've soloed and going after the rock only rarely gets you evaluation worthy of a cape drop. Its usually the regular mobs that help you the most
