Is this the best weapon to tank with at the current time?

To hold hate, it may be pretty well for volatile hate. The best tanking weapon naturally is Burtgang. While its not a weapon that is available to everyone, I bet you the best tanking weapon outside of burtgang would be buramenk'ah.

When I tank I tend to just use Sanus Ensis, since you don't usually need to tank anything you rely on PLD to damage (or that PLD can even hit (delve))

No. Sharur/+1 is a very good weapon, but not the best.

Buramenk'ah is a better DPS option(barring blunt weak/slashing resistant mobs.)

Burtgang or a PDT sword would be better for holding/non-dd tanking.

On SoA content without cor AND brd buffs forget any kind of weapon dmg to help keep hate as your acc will be crap.

The club's WS is better than Sword WS (unless the mob has some PDT etc) but white dmg will most prob always be better on sword unless its weak to blunt dmg etc making it better DPS. Unengaged or where dmg wont matter (stuck in your DT set) a Burtgangs the clear winner.

but someone should put together some numbers on the sword and club in some different situations to share with us

Also its seems even with excalibur's incoming (at some point..) updated stats it will still be a bit behind a Buramenk'ah depending on how much the added HP affect comes into play which may close the gap

Burtgang is going to be pretty solid as the best "all rounder"

You dont need a weapon to hold mobs in fractures and pld doesnt tank any NM you are killing barring mega bosses.

Well, the add effect probably won't come into play at all. You see, enlight overwrites and prevents the Excal add effect. Considering the current massive need for acc it seems unlikely to be worth dropping ~65 acc by not using enlight.

o wow didn't know en-light gave Acc bonus @@ +65 is fixed? So yes anywhere acc matters Excals not going to gain extra white dmg from Added Effect by using en light ;;;

1. Burt (as overall usefulness and balance).
2. Bura
3. Sharu or Excal (could be situational).
4. Delve sword (R15 Acc Path)
5. D Sword (Base)

Enlight's acc bonus matches the base en-dmg, and degrades by 1 per landed hit, just like the dmg. With 420 skill, my enlight starts at 65. Thus ~65 acc.

Only need two pieces of gear to hold the NMs in a fodder mob only run, and that's the twilight set. Just need someone with both willing to sac the whole run.
