These characters often leave lasting impressions—everyone has a favorite NPC, whether the mischievous Shantotto, or the foul-mouthed Prishe, or even Melyon in Selbina, who just can't seem to get enough La Theine Cabbage. We'd like to add more flavor to Vana'diel lore, so tell us which NPC is your favorite and what type of story you'd like to see them appear in next! |

Vana’diel is a land full of adventure, filled with duties that lead players into encountering many memorable NPCs. These characters often leave lasting impressions; whether it’s rousing your fighting spirit or simply asking you to lend a hand for a while, everyone has a favorite NPC. It could be the mischievous Shantotto, or the foul-mouthed Prishe, or even Melyon in Selbina, who just can’t seem to get enough La Theine Cabbage. We’d like to add more flavor to Vana’dielian lore, so tell us which NPC is your favorite and what type of story you’d like to see them appear in next!
How To Participate
| Requirements To Participate
Must have an active FINAL FANTASY XI service account at the time of participating in this event.
Must agree to all of the entry rules below.
*Accounts in the free-trial period cannot participate.
*If under 18 years of age, please obtain the consent of a parent or guardian before participating.
*By participating in this event (answering the survey), you agree to the requirements as well as the rules.

I voted Aldo because after 11 years, I think a sequel to the opening cinematic that isn't total garbage would be a pretty cool thing.
In b4 Shantotto wins, we don't have enough quests, missions, and even other games featuring her after all.

I even gave them a lot of advice on how e the battle should work! For example, Naja should be assisted by Abquhbah and have an ability called "Devoted Assistant" that siphons HP off of him. (Under certain conditions she scolds Abquhbah and causes him to level up.)

Here's what I submitted. It's based on some earlier ramblings I've written regarding Panja-Nanja.
I'd like to draw our attention to an NPC that is near and dear to all of us fishermen and fisherwomen: Panja-Nanja. I believe he offers some words of encouragement that we can all use at some time or another in our journey to perfect our art:
“Fishing...Getting there’s half the fun, you know!
So when you’re down-frown, don’t frown-frown. just move on and keep your spirits up, up, and away!”
Indeed, sometimes it's best if we all just "close our eyes" for awhile~.
Now, what makes this even more remarkable is that this is coming from a fisherman who has NEVER CAUGHT A FISH since the dawn of Vana'diel. If you don't believe me, pay him a visit and watch him!
He's the laughingstock at the guild, but that doesn't bother him. His guild partners make jest, saying that he forgot to put bait on his hook, and that he's just too stubborn to reel in his line to assuage their suspicions. But that's besides the point. He keeps on fishing, believing that sooner or later, he'll finally land something (Pamtam kelp or otherwise).
Therefore, because of this taru’s sage advice that has helped the many fisherpeople of Vana’diel, I say it’s about time we helped ol’ Panja to land a fish of his very own!
Recently, Panja has happened across a rumor that details the location of a legendary fish that even the smallest of taru can fish up! With its insatiable hunger, it quickly bites on anything that so happens to fall into its pool, and it puts up no struggle in order to store its energy for the real fight. No one has ever been able to return to the fishing guild to show off their haul because, well, this fish likes to nibble on a bit more than the bait! Many a fisher has returned with a tale of this incredible foe being fished up, with nought but the scars, broken bones, and concussions to show what happened in the aftermath...
Thus, Panja hatches a plan to include you in a magnificent display of fisher prowess; one that will win the hearts of his comrades, and show everyone what hard work and dedication can bring! Meet Panja at the secret fishing hole, and while he takes care of the fishing, you stand behind him ready to subdue the monstrous beast that emerges from the murky depths!

I'm coming here to ask to everybody vote on Naja Salaheem.
She's for sure one of the greatest characters in the game and I would love to see more of her. Anyone who did the Promotion quests know about how "lovely" she can be.
What we do know currently about Naja is that she's supposed to be some sort of princess in her homeland. I would love to know how she got to Aht Urghan and became chief of the Mercenaries there.
Besides, since one can only hope, her hometown is Gha Naboh Matriarchate on the Olzhirya continent, which is the Mithra Homeland. When the dats for the expansion were discovered many speculated we would finally see the southern continent, before SE announced it was Ulbaka/Adoulin.
Maybe we get a glimpse of what the Mithra Homeland is in a cutscene? So vote for NAJA SALAHEEM!
