You're still missing your logic's major flaw. If you can't get into runs to farm, you don't get the plasm to buy the weapon.

I'm missing nothing

Find a group that doesn't care, make one yourself, or change your job

You people, I swear

Let me eviscerate further. As an apology for those who shout for X only, between a stranger with a Widowmaker and a stranger with a Bereaver you'll always take the latter, no doubt. The Provenance runs my ls used to do on Phoenix went through gearchecks cause we didn't want to deal with 2 hours and half of bs. So I'm not foreign to the concept. However what I said was in the context of fodder farm, whereas a 99Ukon(from a player whose known to be supposedely good - self-stated so not verified on our part)shouldn't be needed to be discriminated over a stranger with a delve gaxe.

Specific instances like that are one thing, but the notion that there's something wrong with demanding a substantially better weapon that takes at most a few hours to complete is asinine

Start/find a group that doesn't care or change jobs. It didn't suddenly become damning to have standards
I do not condemn anything, don't misunderstand my stance is of empathy and not of opposition.

However, you need plasma to get that better weapon, so that is why you require the appropriate relic, empy or whatever is best for your respective job. So excluding someone cause they're supposed to have the target of what they're aiming for can be a bit difficult to mix.

edit: spelling

What?

No. Just no.

It isn't a difficult mix at all. You just don't let them go. It's very, very simple.

You're talking as if it's the organizers responsibility to gear their pickups. Why would you even think that?

Or do both? There's no need for false dilemma

I think the idea is that he wants you to make your own group, and if that fails probably go farm shards and solo it. However I fail to see the reason behind this as the difference between having a good 99rag drk and a Bereaver DRK won't be large enough of a deterrent to cause any sort of want to gate people out of a group, particularly if you aren't screening the players that you're inviting outside of their weapon.

You could say it isn't a large deterrent for virtually everything in this game. That hasn't ever stopped us from having standards

And how you can fail to set up your own group(or change jobs) is beyond me

If their shout or job change functions are malfunctioning? Sure
Of course you can make groups yourself, again I'm not opposing the idea of being picky as I've done it plenty of times as well.

Your standards are for something like a linkshell where you can screen each member thoroughly before bringing them to things, not a shout group whose main attracted members are likely attempting to join for the items that you demand they already have or have the possibility of being so bad at actually playing the game that the weapon is only making them a slightly more effective gimp who will probably still be beat by a 99 relic. You're failing to realize that screening for weapons alone does nothing to deter imbeciles from joining your shout group, and until you've entered and gauged their performance there's no way to ensure that the person you've just invited will be worth any more than the 99rag drk trying to get his Bereaver.

Standards for a minimum gear level are all well and good, but they're mostly worthless on their own.

Only about 1/4 of the shouts carry a "Delve weapon only" prerequisite so by attending one of the other shouts...

Weapon also doesn't mean jack squat if he threw his computer out the window and flew off into the sky. I can make things up to valid my stances too.

Given that that shouter is asking for a delve weapon DD, he probably wants someone for the purposes of DD'ing.

That has nothing to do with it and you bloody well know it, don't skirt the actual flaw in this argument. The weapons being easy to get only exacerbates the core flaw in this method of screening.

The original point was that it's pretty silly to chose a stranger with a delve weapon over someone you know to be a good 99 empy owner(supposedely). Chances are you're getting someone worse.

I don't even know what you want me to say at this point. Everyone's repeating the same non-argument over and over

1) Idiots with good weapons are better than idiots with bad weapons
2) Hardly anyone actually demands Delve weapons for Delve
3) Even if most people demanded Delve weapons for Delve, there are very simple avenues around stagnation

I mean, for ***'s sake, more than half the alliance stands to have innate immunity from said requirement

Like I said, dumbfounded

By such a minuscule amount that it literally does not matter in any real way. That's the point. Your plasm gain in the 45 minutes that you're in a Fracture will be hindered almost equally by a gimp 99rag or a gimp Bereaver, they're both going to be contributing so little that they may as well not even be there to begin with. How much damage do you really think that these weapons add?

Besides all that, the fact of the matter is this: denying access to someone that you know to be a good player just because they do not have a plasm weapon yet is idiotic.

What I meant is, of course between two strangers you'll take the one better equipped, but if you know someone who's good with a 99 r/e I don't see a point in taking the blind shot over him. If you like gambling I guess.

Yeah, that extra 200~400dmg on the weaponskills that they'll be missing fairly frequently because they don't know what food or accuracy gear is is going to be a pretty big deal breaker.

The exclusions in this case are night and day, however. Precedence doesn't make it any less stupid; how you can deny the fact that two players of equally poor skill are going to perform any sort of leaps and bounds over one another just because one has a better weapon is beyond me considering your level of intelligence; fact of the matter is delve requires more than just a shiny weapon to succeed in, unlike pretty much any other event in recent memory.

Oh, delve weapons are so easy to get, let's all complain about not being able to join delve shouts so we can get one!

I'm not sure if you're feigning ignorance or if you're really like this, but seriously. Have you done Delve before? Do you know why a weapon alone isn't going to make someone better than someone else? Or are you just arguing for the sake of arguing? I don't care how much damage the weapon has if the person is too dim to make it connect with the target more than 50% of the time.
