2nd child dies after parents choose prayer
Or looking up multiple sources to check if the information is current and/or correct.
Here's a little devil's advocacy - this just in.... the roughly 3,780th person died today from choosing a hospital over another form of treatment. I think it's safe to guess more than just 2/3780 were kids...

Compared to what? I think he was saying that "People died from choosing hospital over other forms of treatment"
What other forms? Wishful thinking? What evidence/links does he have to support people "dying" from medical treatment, when they had other options. Cerberus.Pleebo said: » There are limited ways to control false information. The food industry, for example, must follow proper labeling on their products. Private citizens are not held to such a standard (nor should they be) and are protected by their first amendment rights*. There's nothing we can or should do to shut up the Jenny McCarthys and Glenn Becks that love to spew falsehoods as fact. Again, the best we can do is make sure the proper information is accessible to the public. Edit: *Slander and libel aside. There is, believe it or not, legal precident for the idealogy I'm talking about. The people v. Larry Flint established that people in the public eye are not entitled to the same protections awarded to private citizens. (not really up for debate honestly) There are a handful of decisions in both directions as to whether people in the public eye are awarded the same liberties in freedom of speach as it pertains to presenting opinion as fact. (still up for debate as to how it applies to a public forum) So, whether you agree with people having the right to speak their mind is irrelevant, these people are presenting opinion as fact. The only real question is: will the people ever stand up against it? People die. A lot. This one kid, out of a lot, died from parental negligence. Big whoop. Also, its not the only kid that died today.
I don't think there's anything being said other than that. Trust God with the impossible and man with the possible.
Paul wrote that timothy should take some medicine for his stomachs sake. People like this make me upset. Ill-minded people. BET MONEY if they got sick they'd go to the doctor. My mother had cancer and went to the doctors and they ultimately couldn't help her, then she turned to God and was healed and ever since then shes devoted her life to God.

That means continuing to reinforce that church/state bulwark. Honestly where do you get this stuff? I can see why you hate Christians if you really believe that they think this way. This is inflammatory hate speech. I'm sick:
1) Go to hospital 2) Pray to Satan 3) Pray to God I would stick to this order. If God forgives, why not exhaust all your possibilities first? Sylph.Linkk said: » No, what I want is solutions to problems. You guys have took 1 sentence and run with it, ignored everything else I said around it and keep coming back to that like that is my official stance. What I was thinking is I see all kinds of things today that are restricted until people can prove they are able/capable of doing that task. So I was thinking shouldn't there be something similar for rising kids which could be one of the most challenging things a person could do so we can lessen events like this and many more? While thinking that, I put down my comment. I already said this situation is not an easy simple thing to deal with. You can go hunting the old post for verification. As a human, you should feel bad as soon as there is persecution against anyone, not pick who has the highest score. True. I also can't help but wonder how many people would have been less (or more for that matter) outraged had this been a Muslim couple. I really hate it when Islamic fanatic fathers and brothers pour acid on their daughters/sisters because of honor. I really hate it when Christian fanatic parents kill their kids because they think an unseen man will heal or not heal their child based on the kids worthiness. I'm pretty even on the hate side for both horrific acts. Bahamut.Kara said: » ... Islam... and... honor. I really hate... Christian... parents. kill their kids... I have high hopes...but I'm on cold medicine so it might be from that As far as I'm concerned these people should be facing murder charges. Not manslaughter. Murder. And I really love how after prayer didn't work the first time, and their kid died, they just figure "Well, we just didn't pray hard enough. Things will be different this time!" I understand the whole "faith" thing. But there has to be a point where reason still fits into the equation.

Wow I find all this funny. First off we live in a free country. Second it also has freedom of religion. Just because you believe they should have done one thing doesn't mean they believe that. Good or bad, healed or hurt, alive or dead they are able to do what they think is the best "even though it might not be". This goes deeper then the couple and the children. If the government can throw in jail one couple for doing what they believed right where does it stop? If the child got sick of natural causes and they believed in not using modern medical treatment then so be it. What happens happens. Now there is a whole other side to this. If they starved the child or straight up neglected the child there is criminal charges. People get sick, people die its how the world works and some people don't want to or dont believe is modern ways and that's fine as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else let them live the way they believe they should.

But that is me. Personally I do question when all of our advanced medicine/hygiene is going to catch up to us and give us a nasty superbacteria (or virus) and make like the plague. But I don't sit around worrying about it, and I still got a flu shot a few months ago (to be fair, it was free, and I had the choice of that or wear a mask at work...) Well experimental vaccines are a different compared to anti-virals and anti-biotics. We already have super-bacteria(e.g. VRSA and ghonnorhea) and we have super-viruses(HIV). Generally speaking though these resistant pathogens develop because of re-infection, or not taking meds properly. In general though, refusing treatment of something like HIV/STIs, pneumonia, poses a risk to the general public health- not only to oneself. Not only are you probably going develop chronic-associate conditions from refusing treatment, you are are at high risk to transmit these infections to the general public.
