A linkshell mate just asked if Fantod was broken for anyone else. I happen to have had a Falcor out when they asked and mine wouldn't work either. Our linkshell members were asking things like maybe was spellcast breaking it or windower 4 perhaps had something to do with it. I happen to have no spellcast things set up, simply for the fact that I never bothered to learn how to set them up, so I don't think that's it.

Has anyone else noticed this or is having trouble too? Perhaps someone saw something mentioned about this being a known issue at some point? Thanks in advance for any responses.

In a related note, this ls mate claimed that Fantod was, in his opinion, Falcor's best move. I instantly was all: Um, what the heck are you talking about? It's just boost basically. 10.5% attack boost for the next hit/bite/scratch (whatever you call Falcor's melee swing). Personally I still with Choke Breath for it's paralyze effect early on if I'm fighting something tough, and fall back on Back Heel as my most commonly used Falcor TP move. Anyone else have opinions on this? They mentioned Fantod seemed to give a really high number if a Falcor triple-attacked. I just don't buy it. Thanks.

Edit: I was trying to do it through menu before. I made a macro for it: /ja "Fantod" <me>
...and when I hit it, it told me a command error occured and said /magic "Fantod" <me>
...when I plainly have it typed out as /ja in the macro. Weird.

Edit #2: Someone suggested spellcast interecepts things player-side before it gets sent to server, and while I don't use it, it loads in windower for me I guess. I unloaded it and now Fantod works. Problem solved. Topic can die unless anyone wants to chime in on Fantod's usefulness here I guess.

It's spellcast. Put this in a macro and it should work:

/raw /pet fantod <me>

Basically, spellcast is confusing the pet Fantod for the BLU spell. The above command makes it ignore that.

It can proc on a triple attack and the damage boost affects each hit (can get some interesting numbers in Abyssea). I typically only use Back Heel when I have Falcorr out, but all of his Ready moves are pretty underwhelming.

The boost to damage is quite significant. I've seen it crit for 1900+, while regular attacks crit for maybe 300-400 in Abyssea. I can asure you, the boost to damage is more than a mere "10~12% attack".

It's probably not broken since it's been like this for a year or two atleast.

That said, if the next attack misses (and i do feel there might be a negative accuracy to it since i tend to miss with it a lot), your boost is wasted and nothing is gained.

200 dmg choke breath with 5% para proc rate

or

400 dmg back heel

or

800-900 regular hit fantod, that can proc on additional hits

idk man.

I havent really used Jugs since the update but my girlfriend has said that only Back Heel is working for her with Falcorr.

It is broke. Definitely not spell cast, as I don't use it. Doesn't work when typed, from READY menu, from macro.

It is spellcast. Unload it and then try - it'll work. Falcore's jettatura is also affected by this.

Assuming you're using spellcast on BST properly, you can put a block of XML in your rules section that will listen for fantod and automatically apply the BST version rather than the BLU.
Code
<if spell="Jettatura|Fantod">
    <cancelspell/>
    <cmd>input /raw /pet "%spell" <me></cmd>
</if>

Edit: The 'me' part of the XML is being converted to HTML as part of this post. It should read:

& lt;me& gt;
