I can count the number of times I've seen a corsair melee in group activity on no hands.

Pardon my ignorance, but should they?
My mind is still back in the day when I used a Joyeuse and a Trailer's Kukri :/
In retrospect: Oh God, why?

Not sure if I could forgive myself though.

The horror... the horror...

But in all seriousness, I've always had difficulty drawing the line between when it's okay to poke things and when shoveling TP in the mob's mouth is a super bad thing.

Is the target weak enough to where you will gain something out of meleeing it for TP? Yes -> melee No -> don't melee

Does the target have tons of shitty AoEs that it will spam if you melee it? Yes -> don't melee No -> melee

Will you meleeing in any way cause the healer's performance to be affected detrimentally (MP loss, attention being grabbed, etc.)? Yes -> don't melee No -> melee

For everything else, there's Mastercard

It kind of depends on what you're fighting and how efficient/good your healers are. Does the mob have any really nasty tp moves? If so, it's probably not a good idea to feed it extra tp. Unless your healer can keep up. If it's a pretty passive/weak mob and your healer is twiddling his thumbs for the most part, then get in there and have some fun.

Of course, it isn't always so cut and dry.

Also, if I'm wrong then someone please correct me. Even though I don't play anymore, learning is always fun.

Much appreciated you two.
The answer lies within common sense as I had figured, but since my FFXI mindset is still living in 2007, I figured it would be smart to ask anyways.

Also I was kinda hoping you'd say something about Midrium bullets rather than Mastercard :3

Midrium bullets make my soul cry, and will continue to until Midrium ore stops being so stupidly expensive
