Man GEO would have been perfect if it came out when Abyssea was released since most of Abyssea EXPing involved fighting multiple mobs at the same time and/or cleaving multiple mobs. Those AoE def down spells would have been godly.
And BG is down. Too many people on there?

I just had a Sudden Clarity Clarence moment...
Right now it's like camping an NM. Getting it to even file check is like even getting to claim an NM. Getting it to download is like actually getting the drop. FML I'm like 0/150+ on LL, VE, Argus, Dee Meggi, etc.

it has ROM-ROM9 and Sound Foldes.
Copy and replace files if being asked to your ROM-Folder in your XI-directory.

Just downloaded the file from Mega and dumped it into my FFXI folder.
Bad news is you still have to get past the POL-1160s for it to verify the update but it should take considerably less time once it does!

Why wouldn't you want to use File Check?
File check really isn't any different from just trying to download the patch, the only real difference is that you don't have to log in. You'll still get 1160 after 1160 coming out of your ***, pretty much.
so I accidently copied rom 9 into rom 6 >.> and then copied it correctly into rom 9.... I hope rom six fixes itself when i try to update it

You still have to cross two hurdles regardless of the method:
1) Logging into POL.
2) Successfully getting the file check & downloading the update.
Doing file check, just lets you download the update before logging in, and you'll face the exact same problems as if you were in POL and trying to pass file check.

Hi everyone ,
like all of you guys I am having a hell of a time with this update...I was kinda hopeless until I saw your post.
I end up getting the C:ROM/298/65.dat (NO clue what is that , huh!)
I have downloaded the .rar and extracted it , though the after taking a quick look at the files in there , I can see many of them missing.
My question is , Do I have to replace the rom folders with the one you uploaded(probably this will delete all the one that are already in the old folder) or do I have to replace/fure the folder ?!
Has any of you tried this methode ?! any sucess ??

After years of facing the same problems EVERY update you'd think they would have figured out that upgrading their operations would have hit them in the head. From the looks of things we won't be even logging on until a day or two from now...

Ok 23/23 files remain but it always fails to start downloading, *** this gonna have some McDonalds, they're doing a monopoly game right now so maybe I'll win something, better than sitting around seeing POL-1160 everywhere.
