The sets are just a random suggestion Pchan, every single set made using Mote's sheets will change item depending on buffs etc. A single change in just Focus being down changes your set, which is why most use multi lv Acc/att sets 3-4 tiers. Few post looking for suggestions on set, and of course one posted and follow up poster quick to jump on it. ffxiah toxicology FTW.

For a start, no most people do not use more than 2 sets. Most use 1 tp set that doesn't change, some will use 2 tp sets (low high/high acc) and a very small number of people will use more than that.

The sets Arziet posted are not optimal in any combination of buffs. For example using wanion and atheling at the same time will never be best.

Pchan also posted a superior alternative, and pointed out what was wrong with the previous poster's. If you really think that constitutes "toxicology" (pretty sure the word you're looking for is toxic) then you're probably just jumping on the Pchan bashing bandwagon.

If people are looking for suggestions on sets then surely its logical to point out improvements that can be made on sets already posted.

Hesy Gloves don't suck at all. They give twice the HP that Otronif gloves give. 2 more str, dex, vit than Otronif. Subtle Blow (if you're not capped from other gear) is extremely underrated for low-man. Not to mention 23 attack doesn't lose to 2% DA by much.

Anyway, this isn't as good as Otronif, but it definitely doesn't suck. Also, if you're capped accuracy without any additional accuracy gear, you're probably doing old content anyway where maximizing your dps doesn't even matter.

Pchan "Not sure how you managed to include Hes gloves+1 ... Unless you absolutely need the acc they suck."

This is the issue, not the pointing our a better set, as folks in the forums are trying to optimize gear. But approach is the issue, not fact.

EDIT:
Now to go back to drinking my coffee and writing these very boring bids and proposals. (*^.^*)

It sounds like you guyz are purposely trying to find a moderate acc setup where the hes. gloves are useful but the other gear is completely irrelevant then? Potestas instead of honed ? What about otronif augmented with acc ? acc belts ? acc rings ? acc earrings ? acc body ?.. acc on legs and feet ? etc. Those hands are probably only good in max accuracy setup which nobody uses anywhere because then you probably also need defensive gear, aka otronif augmented with accuracy. Basically anything lower than AAs they are not useful. Anything on par with AAs, stick to otronif (with acc augments).

Just for you Pchan, Otronif +1 with Acc augment. Lower total DPS, which means the Additional 2Str, 2Dex, & 23 Attack is what is pushing the Hes. Gloves +1 Ahead.

EDIT: If changing Rancor to Asperity the total DPS is slightly lowered to 586.947 DPS. Which is a very slight loss at the gain of safety.

Except his point was that any time you need that much accuracy, you probably also benefit heavily from the defensive boost on otronif +1. The only content in the game where that much accuracy is relevant is AAs, which is definitely somewhere you will benefit heavily from extra defensive stats.

Hesychast's are useful for chakra and max accuracy builds that don't require the extra defense from otronif +1, which is pretty tenuous.

Your 3rd and supposedly superior "Low-Man" setup includes rancor collar, which is goes against that low man logic. The only time it would be applicable would be when you have enough support to comfortably allow for it (at which point you'd have a higher ratio and have already marginalised its benefit over Asperity).

It's also important to note that Hesy+1 may not belong in the absolutely optimal set but are quite amazing gloves for newer/returning players or even ones that are lacking crucial pieces of accuracy gear. Not to mention augmenting Otronif+1 is insanely expensive and has left many players to just keep NQ Otronif and their augments.

So Pchan apparently comes with an interpreter now. Whatever you're getting paid, it's not enough.

True, accuracy set ups are really only useful for AA fights right now. Also AA's are the most challenging content where evaluating the best gear setup is the most beneficial.

However, "benefit heavily from extra defensive stats" doesn't really make much sense. Are you really taking MNK/WAR to AA fights? Try /NIN. Now you don't need those defensive stats in your TP set.

I mean, this should be common knowledge, but you can wear offensive gear when doing damage and defensive gear when turtling. IE - full accuracy/DD set when shadows are up... full PDT when shadows are down. Just remember to include your PDT gear in your Utsusemi gear set.

Also, agree that Hesy +1 gear is a LOT less expensive than Otronif+1 with ideal augments

Looking at how Hesychast stats progress from 109 to 119, I would guess the 119 Hesy Legs will get 12% or 13% Kick Attack rate. These paired with 119 Anchorite Feet will probably be better than Otronif for TP. At least I hope so. I know I'm not the only one that hates stupid-random-luck-based-gil-sink augments.

The 119 body will probably be a really big disappointment. It will most likely have less str than 119 Anchorite and probably the same dex. I'll 109 it just so that I'm a little more durable in my idle set, but I probably won't 119 it even if it does get Regen +3.

The anchorite feet don't improve DPS even if paire with hesychast+1 legs... Empty update haha. I wonder how many people will bother killing unstunnable bosses (that are not even in the game yet) for wpn that are anyway greatly inferior to rme.

The Hose+1 are definitely the best low accuracy piece right now, and Regen+3 on the body is awesome! Too bad the job points seem pretty meh and the Hurkan hat got turned into a ranger head piece.

Otronif +1 Legs/Feet will be needed in WS set, although there are other options only dropping you a bit. Otronif NQ with 2% Crit/Dbl, Hes/Anch(+1) are other options for leg/feet slots, as well as Quiahuiz. Should tide us off till we get our smexys with perfect augments.

"Pretty meh" is an understatement imo. They chose Dodge? The one Job Ability I don't even waste a macro for besides Boost.

Accuracy on Hundred Fists? Might allow you to gear swap for an extra 15 attack?

Have you even fought AAs on anything harder than easy? Even with 2 shadows up you can take a large amount of damage very quickly.

It is not possible in these fights to simply equip PDT gear when you run out of shadows and expect to live on harder difficulties.

If you're still spamming ~normal and not getting drops then feel free to make bad choices like hesychast's hands.

As I've said before, while Pchan does go off the reservation on occasion, I'd wager he is a far better than most people here and on BG, yourself included.

Most jobs don't get much, but "worthwhile" I'd say a lot of jobs got something that's ok. BLU and COR I know got some pretty nice stuff. If MNK JPs had been half as good as BLUs I'd have been happy to farm them.

Any bonus to Impetus wouldn't really be fair since MNK is already strong in the DPS department.
However, a reduction to the defense penalty on Counterstance was what I would have liked to see. Or, a bonus to Focus would've been nice. Even a bonus to Perfect Counter I would've spent time actively farming for.

Hundred Fists I will use if I'm at capped JPs.
Dodge I won't even waste time with even if I'm sitting at capped JPs.

Yes. I've actually never done easy, but I've had success on all AA's as MNK on Difficult and some on VD. Other day I did a HM on Difficult and had to solo tank for a few minutes while the other DD recovered. HM is the hardest to shadow tank.

While your question was meant as an insult to me, I honestly do question whether you've done any of the fights on D or VD without ranger setup. You talk about it as if you haven't got a clue. I'm not going to explain the mechanics of shadow tanking to you. You'll have to consult with someone in your LS
