Dont see RUN tanking anything heavy duty physical that can 100 fists so PlD still have a use as good old fashion meat shield if they fix enmity this decade....

If anything is really magic-heavy you'd just equip Aegis anyways!

I'm just excited that there's gonna be players in low-level zones again.

I was always kind of a sucker for the majority of the zone design in this game.

I've leveled every single job in this game before the Abyssea era (75% of them before level sync). I'll take up GEO and RUN slowly. Level at my leisure and not burn it.

For example, if you need to change your luopan effect before the item ticks down, you can use Full Circle to wipe it away. Or you can use Lasting Emanation to keep it in place longer. Ecliptic gives your next cast a shorter duration but a larger effect, while Life Cycle allows you to sacrifice your own health and heal your luopan proportionally. Dematerialize lets you briefly shield your luopan from any damage, and Concentric Pulse lets you detonate the luopan for an AoE damage effect while giving you the chance to put down a replacement.

I cannot express into words how awesome this paragraph is.

I'm not gonna lie, but the names of all these JAs gives me tingles.

Question though: Exactly how do they plan to keep hate? Unless they fix enmity they're still going to get out DD'd by "pure" DD's arent they? Purely speculative question, just not sure I see how they're going to keep hate. Carry on.

I'm excited. At this point I dont see RUN as the final nail in RDM's coffin, I see RUN as the new RDM.

Honestly, i see it as a reason to have a RDM in your party..because yes it gets refresh...but no one complains when you give them Refresh II. Unless of course youre a SCH..then the RDM is an idiot.

Also, noone complains when the RDM Sabo slow II 5/5's the mob ontop of Carnage Elegy...unless your in voidwatch.

RDM is situational..it is not dead quite yet.Even with the job that might potentially be the best resist deterrent for RDM.

RUN seems too niche to me. If you can only clobber one element at a time, then it seems pretty useless.

Geo sounds super cool though.

A BRD/SCH/SMN sounds awesome to me...but having the fields be HP dependent is going to suck on aura mobs if they can get poisoned :<

A 2 hander with native access to stoneskin, phalanx, refresh, and resolution almost sounds too good to be true. With /WAR and an excellent great sword, it's very possible it could be a competitive dd.

If RUN gets haste natively I'll s*** my pants.

why do /war when you can go /drk and get free 15% JA haste when that update hits :P

Will be lacking native JA Haste, /SAM or /DRK best in most circumstances in such a case, and that leads to the problem of no native attack buffs which stunts Resolution's power significantly. Hopefully rune enspells/rune nukes are enough to close the gap a little or there's going to be some more runes that do attack buffs or whatever. I want it to be good!

I'd like to point out that, depending on how they fix the enmity system, RDM may once again be able to hold hate again through cure cheats.

Cure cheats were always the fast (but dirty) way to cap VE at level 75 before switching to spamming CE spells. Rdm's hate generation from cure cheats is roughly the same as it was, with MP being a lot easier to come by. If enmity gained from damage dealt is reduced, cure cheating may once again be a viable way for plds and rdms to cap hate fast.

I'm not sure against what mob RDM would do better than PLD NIN or RUN, but holding hate is always the first step.

SE may have already taken precautions to this anyways. RDM gets Tranquil Heart, and with a recent update the - Enmity effect of Tranquil Heart scales with Healing Magic. RDM probably wont be able to Cure cheat too well to hold hate with that change.

the one where they give LA JA haste and lower Desperate Blows JA haste to compensate? in the same announcement they announced the DEF,1H,MeritWS,and numerous other things updates. That they'll do "In the future"

Okay, it's finally time to ask the question that has been looming in my head for several years now: Is it possible for you to construct a sentence that doesn't (mis)use aposiopesis?

I kinda like the burst damage it sounds like RNF is gonna get, and I think the mechanics of GEO look like a lot of fun...i guess a lot of this stuff is redundant, but its just something new to do

A 5-second-recast JA you're supposed to spam on a melee class is basically asking for people not to bother playing it.
