Which one to make first? Apoc or Rag?

Ill never regret my Apoc done before Rag.
Also I made some Rag DRK cry on parse even on stuffs that matters like Legion.
Make Apoc if u wanna have more fun imo, make Rag if u like to just spam WS.
Oh and for any Rag fanboy, I have Rag. I've beat just about every popular weapon, including Apoc, with a Perdu Sickle (at 99). So if we use your reasoning, Make Perdu Sickle before Apoc or Rag. k k

This thread inspired me to 99 my Apocalypse and do ZR2 with it. It took over 15 minutes longer, and the boss lived forever. I honestly felt my survivability had gone down because I can cure easily but a longer fight has more chance of unfortunate events killing me faster than my reaction time. I just felt like sharing. At least I can town gear in it now, I guess.

Sooo, just disable the curing bot and compare how long you needed to reach Floor 6 and kill all the gears (in other words everything w/o NQ or HQ Hydra). You needed 15min longer? No ***, that happens even if you wield the same weapon, because of the hydra.

I don't know what to say. Do you haste yourself? Have multihit gears? Use /ja? sub sam? Use cata instead of entropy? What's your apoc lvl?

It did, though I've had marrows set aside for it forever, just saw no point turning it in until I was planning on using it. The performance in salvage was much worse than I'd been lead to believe, but it does still look cool.

I'd turn them in for apoc 99 if you're planning on using it for salvage.

Just to double check, you did switch to apoc gear sets and use aftermath up/down sets ya? Assuming you run at about 65minutes(about how fast my group runs) that is like 25% behind a ragnarok(I'm assuming you were playing drk w/ ragna) which is a bit more than I thought math had it behind. The drk that runs with me had been considering Apoc so i'm interested in being able to give him correct numbers.
Also, semi-related, kill time on hydra isn't normally a good indicator of damage because its more about what the hydra does than what you do. I run with the same group and our kill times on it have been everywhere between 50seconds and 8 minutes, all depending on how much it wants to use physical shield and dispel.

Both weapons are a good pick.
Ragnarok is stronger no doubt.
Apocalypse is still not a BAD choice.
Pick the one you want.

I don't know about that... I finished rag few weeks ago... Not impressed with it on drk at all. Its a war weapon. If drk is your goal, then do apoc.

The answer is to make Rag first. Chances are if you asking such a question you suck at this game. Rag will atleast get you in good with the rest of the 99% that suck and will cover up a lot of your deficiencies.

Currently saving up the gil for my first relic. It takes me some time to save up money, but I reckon I could have enough within a few months by doing dyna and other things when possible. Was originally going to make a Ragnarok, but I am not sure now. Apocalypse is very useful as well.
So if you was a Dark Knight with no relics, which one would you make first?
