This is a bit far-fetched, but I thought of a creative solution to potions and ethers (excluding elixirs): Potions HP Healed = (Max HP / X)*(1+Y) X = Modifier based on the level of the potion (i.e. Hi-Potion vs Super Potion). Y = MND based modifier, much like a WSC in WS formulas, also affected by level of the potion. Potions would be affected by MND and your Max HP, making healing much more efficient. Additionally, make (certain) potions target party members, and make area of effect potions craftable. Ethers MP Healed = (Max MP / X)*(1+Y) X = Modifier based on the level of the potion (i.e. Hi-Ether vs Super Ether). Y = INT based modifier, much like a WSC in WS formulas, also affected by level of the potion. Potions would be affected by INT and your Max MP, making healing much more efficient. Additionally, make (certain) potions target party members, and make area of effect potions craftable. Final Adjustment: Much like Automaton Oils, add minimum level requirements to use them, like the requirements of EXP pages. This way you don't have low level parties spamming high healing items. Anyway, that's just my two cents. Hopefully my ideas get those brain cogs turning! Just figured I'd bring my post from the official forums over to here for feedback and just to share my thoughts here. I NPC any potions that I pick up. Some of them vendor for a pretty decent amount.

Best looking headpiece imo.. That weapon would be Ridill hehe. I don't ask for much.. Just a lil more dmg (50'ish?) and 1 more hit/per?. That's not too much to ask for... Come on SE... Make it happen!. I actually like the working potions idea.... Would make those sticky situations in NNI easier when I'm a mile away from a SCH and getting the hell beat out of me
More like, I'm bound and the SCH is lost.. but w/e. Having a stack of Hi-potions +5 with a cooldown of 5-10 seconds that I could get 3-500 hp out of (stat dependant or something) would be fantastic. Remedies, holy water, echo drops, the medicines of the -na / erase family are great, think of how overpowered a lucid potion style med would be even with a short medicated effect. The fact that xi isn't turn based and is multiplayer is probably why potions have never really got adjustments. Mages aren't bound to a 10 second cooldown on potions and a 20 second one on casting. Before mana was unlimited, mages still didn't use potions that often. Non-stacking + crappy effects + cast time + medicated effect made resting in turns more practical..

On note of the CoP ring upgrade requests, I'd also like to see the ToAU rings upgraded.. maybe remove the assault latent and make the effect fulltime np :D refresh ring? another lolregen ring? snapshot!

All old R/EX gear should be pops for like an Arch-NM that drops the same gear, but better. Examples: Ohat would now be a pop for like an Arch-Hakutaku, which drops say a headpiece that is 20Racc, 20Acc, 20Eva. Algol is a pop for an Arch-Cerb which drops stats relevant to an updated Algol. Steamclock would be a pop for an Arch-Bernie, which drops a wormhole in the universe instead of just a clock. Def down never procs in general, and if you're not in a high buff situation, why are you using bravura? I think inventory space with all the new gear and weapons out would be one of the greatest improvements. Along those lines making relic +2 storeable without having to do trials for every piece would also help specially seeing as many of those effects are sort of useless in this age of the game. I hear many people and see many posts here also about upgraded previous content to 99 standards IE the toau and wotg items and such that many people put alot of time into. If your throwing ideas out there just as a random what if how about also including some more recipes for crafts that have sort of dropped out of the normal popularity to make them useful again not just a few main ones for the craftaholics :p
an item that summons your moogle to the field so you can change jobs/get items from your safe/storage/locker
but this moogle doesn't heal you or resets timers on abilities or a kind of storage system that your main character can access along with your mules (kinda like in guildwars) Pinecone Bomb!

Using potions would be a -time spent killing the targets, if regen 5 Phalanx and embrava regen / PDT dont save you, then you need dedicated cures for that mob. There will be times it would be helpful but Vile elixer +1 and VE are PERFECT for this and more than enough with regular tempts... Access is denied More -waltz recast time gear for DNC
