Some of my Job Abilities are showing up as Unknown. I have the latest resources and I have no idea why they are showing up that way. Can anyone help?

I have the same issue with my recast. Everything from 90-99 comes up as an unknown ability and I have also updated my resources.

http://resources.windower.net/

Download resources.xml and replace the one you have with it.

The other resources files automatically update, but that one does not and many of the older plugins still rely on it.

Did it, still didn't work. Pretty sure the one I had was word for word the same one.

Edit: One thing I noticed when I opened it with Notepad ++ is that all that Japanese characters were ??? so... maybe has something to do with it? Idk. I can view them just fine, I believe.

Edit2: Fixed the encoding, shows Japanese characters now... still doesn't work.

Open your resource.xml file and look at the first few lines, you will find something like this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<!--TXXX-->

where XXXX is a long number.

Now go to your plugin folder, look for a file named resource.ver

Open the file with notepad, is the number same with XXX? If not, just copy and paste the number from resource.xml file.

Well, the one I linked has--

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<!--Radsources last updated 2012.10.09. This file generated on 2012.10.09-->

Byrth's just has --

!--
Radsources last updated 2012.10.09. This file generated on 2012.11.27
-->

(Just realized maybe not the same >_>)

So neither have a really long number. D:

Can I just add a number like <!--00000834534523 -->

and then add the number to the .ver file?

I am using the updated resource file with old format and no problem with recast plugin.

Check out the link which Bryth provided. There are resource.old and resource.ver files. Download them and rename the resource.old to resource.xml. But be warned, some other plugin may be messed up if you use the old format resource file.

Did it and still not working :<

I did notice though that .old had <!--T0000001328036110-->

and it's .ver had 0000001332684831

Not the same.

Do you think you could post the
Code
Code
of your resources.xml and the code in your .ver file? Also what version of Recast are you using? I'm using 1.730

Btw, I do appreciate your help. Probably the furthest I've come along in trying to figure out why this isn't working. ^_^

I usually change the resource.ver manually whenever there is a new resource file. So I did not notice that the .ver in that link has a different number.

Btw, which ability was shown as unknown? May be I can check it on my windower. I haven't noticed any unknown ability on recast so far but I play melee jobs mostly.

Edit: my recast version is also 1.7.3.0

Well, so far I've only noticed Hagakure and Sengikori. I could hop on a few other jobs and test them too.

Recast works fine on Hagakure and Sengikori.

Let's try these steps:
1. download resource.old and rename it to resource.xml in the plugin folder.
2. manually change the number on resource.ver
3. restart windower

Hope it works.

There are two thing I'm not sure what they are--

The Recast File (It's just a Blank Page and says file type: File)

and the resources.md5.

I didn't do anything with the Recast File, and put resources.md5 in my resources folder.

Loading up FFXI now.

Tri post!

Going to take all the files that'd have to do with this from my old computer and see if it works.

Ok, so for some reason this one works. I believe it's because the resource.xml that's IN the plugin folder didn't match the one IN the resource folder? Maybe...

I also not sure what is the Recast File, probably it is an auto-generated file. I put it in just in case.

Now I have run out of idea. Maybe OS related? I am using windows XP if you would like to know, but I doubt OS is the problem.

Edited post. Think it's because the resource.xml didn't match from one folder to another. o_O

Honestly, I can't tank you enough. I looked at my file and yours and mine was way out of date but had the things I used. So I replaced all of my files and it works now. Thank you so much.
