Sea Torques For Melee

Hello!

I am wondering how relevant Sea Torques are to jobs nowadays. There's a lot of 'tasty' neck pieces available, are Sea Torques up there by comparison? For example, today I acquired a Fortitude Torque (1/13!) and I'm wondering if it's even any good anymore?

I have done a little reading and I'm a little torn. It seems some people still think they're good, others are saying we shouldn't be going anywhere near them.

Fortitude Torque is a Chakra piece still.

Love Torque is useful for SA->Rudra's.

Faith Torque is useful in some situations (when you don't want the damage+ from Rancor or are using Rancorous back), but it's much less useful than it was.

Temperance, Prudence, Hope, and Justice Torques are not useful for anything I can think of.



An often ignored role for these Torques is to help land additional effects from WSs. Additional Effects and magic WSs have resist rates that can be based on your weapon skill (although some are not).

Temperance torque gives enough of a skill bonus to have Sunburst on jobs that only receive 144 staff skill from their subjob.

Apathy Gorget and probably even Tjukurrpa Medal would be ahead of Fort.

Additionally, having full merits, the Justice Torque, and the Great Katana skill hachimaki will give you enough skill to have Koki as /Sam. For /Nin you'd need things like Bushi as well I believe, which you really shouldn't do if you can avoid it.

I still use justice for fudo. It may not be the best, but its a solid hybrid neck with decent str and the skill gives some acc and att. Saves me space too.

"Still" don't means "the best", but not worth farming imo.
