The Sealed Dagger: A Ninja Guide
Kind of a noob question but what would be better inside Abyssea with Pamun, Shun or Jin? I have Kannagi at 85 and working it on 90 to use HI inside but in the meantime what would be better? I'm asumming Jin because of capped Crit inside but haven't tested Shun output.

Can CS Apollyon II be duo'd?

You could use 2x skirmish katana, thats way cheaper, till new naakual that drops katana appears. You would spend like 3 m to have 2 r15 while a stack of nq verdigris can make 2 kannakiri somewhere near a rank 15, as weapon augments sems a little better than gear augment. Anyway those katana will be dropped next new content.

Crit ws's are almost always the best choice inside aby. Honestly though, if you have access to delve or delve boss dagger, or kiji, use that. Jin/Evisceration from those will devestate hi from from a fresh sobek kannagi and is better, especially outside abyssea, than any kannagi before 119 if for no other reason than the acc/att bonus. just ws wise, Hi will give the best result inside abys but DOT wise every other delve content weapons you can use is better.
So the solution is to use blade hi with delve weapon!

A day or so in WoE should yield enough items to unlock Hi. Obviously Hi with 119 Kannagi will wreck Hi with any other weapon, but Hi with Kiji or Pamun will wreck Jin. And since there's not much reason to bring NIN to anything outside abby.... So I'm dumb and haven't played lately... what is it about Ninja that made it go from one of the most commonly played jobs (based on Kannagi being the top Empyrean weapon during the height of Abyssea/Voidwatch) to something you wouldn't dare let near Delve content? I'll grant that it won't be the highest DPS job, but it sounds almost like Thief has a better chance of getting in a Delve run.

Add into that you can't reliably evade high end stuff and everything is AoE wiping shadows constantly. The things that made NIN an obligatory Abby job (high evasion, decent DPS, red staggers) are no longer in it's favor. The critical hit damage thing sounds really weak. Other jobs took full advantage of Razed Ruins and are still at full power without it. The rest makes sense, but I can't see how something goes from being considered excellent DPS to non-existent on the based of a buff that every melee had. It's like saying "Ninja DPS goes to crap without someone casting Haste on them": it's true, but irrelevant.

Other jobs have higher attack or STR modded/non-crit WS that survive the loss of crit atma much better than NIN. It's not that NIN can't DD as well as THF or DNC outside abby, but when was the last time you saw either of those invited to current endgame? If they had a functional enmity system innin would help close a lot of those gaps (with 119 RME or pamun and hi) I mean it's no war/Sam/drk/monk all of which have gimmicks that are more useful in delve anyway. I guess you could bring a nin and use requiescat... Idears... But that's more just goofing than actuallity. In an 18 man alliance it doesn't really matter if everyone even sort of knows what they are doing.

Another reason is that people tended to do things low-man with low buffs in Abyssea. NIN already had a high attack rate without Marches, and with them they go way over the -delay cap. They can somewhat take advantage of it by swapping out some gear, but there's only so much you can gain from that.
Yeah. NIN is 1 more piece of 5% DW gear away from being able to reach delay reduction cap with just Haste. lol

It basically becomes a MNK TP set with the addition of Qirmiz Tathlum, Brutal/Suppa.

The... problem... of Ninja speed advantages being incompatible with endgame buff-stacking coupled with the mediocre damage of katana, though, does explain why the job is in limbo. I rather wish Innin (and Yonin, for that matter) didn't have facing requirements. Except that it is a full-time buff, is it really so different from Impetus? It's different from Impetus in that it is a static increase of accuracy, evasion, critical hit rate, ninjutsu damage, NTE, and/or enmity. Impetus is just an increase in attack and crit rate for each additional hit landed. If you miss, it resets, and it's 3 min duration and 5 min recast. its not

My mistake, but it still is a diminishing buff rather than an increasing one. |
