Still inferior with perfect augs, unless the TP changes made the delay favorable. Doubtful though

True, Kannakiri+2 isn't an optimal choice if you have the other 119 options (even without any RME), but it's not bad either and probably still has a place for anyone lacking RME or Raimitsukane. Before I got Raim to drop my Kannakiri+2 (DMG+11, Acc+7, DEX+something augments) did still win out as mainhand in many many situations I spreadsheeted, thanks to the high base damage. Though yeah, since I got Raim I really have no place for Kannakiri any more.

Ideal non-RME sets: you'd want Raim/Isuka most of the time with occasional situations favoring Shigi, and Senkutanto remains a nice offhand for reives. This new WKR that's apparently coming may be a contender too.

You're not wrong, but it's hard to justify spending time and money upgrading the lesser option when you could just be farming MR(and getting pages or what have you in the process)

Inferior to what? Shigi? 'cause Kannakiri has the same Delay as Isuka.
Also, on the spreadsheet I'm getting quite a big difference of Kannakiri +2 over Isuka R15 A, favouring the first.
Don't even need the perfect augment of Damage+11, Crit+2, WSdamage+10%.
Taking out Crit+2 but keeping WSdmg+10%, you "only" need DMG+4 for it to be slightly better than Isuka R15 A as offhand.

Btw the two new Katanas added this patch. Alas no Delve version of the WKR one, but there is a new 119 Katana (probably drop from ShadowLordII/ShikareeII?)

Chidori (ilevel 119)
DMG:122 Delay:227 Accuracy+15 Magic Damage+95 Evasion+37 Katana skill +242 Parrying skill +242 Magic Accuracy skill +188 "Fast Cast"+5%

Taikogane (ilevel 115)
DMG:110 Delay:227 DEX+12 AGI+12 +20 Evasion+17 Katana skill +188 Parrying skill +188 Magic Accuracy skill +146 Critical hit rate +2% NIN

Don't know what to say about Chidori. FC 5% is nice, but damage wise it shouldn't be as good as Isuka R15 A or a very good augmented Kanna+2.
I guess it's still a valid MH Alternative though.

Taikogane looks cool, higher damage but also higher delay than Atoyac, but given the higher base Katana skill compared to dagger skill, it also means more attack/accuracy.
Mainhanding Sekuntanto and offhanding Taikogane in Reives must be some serious fun :D

They also released a new 6% dual wield belt btw, all jobs.

Shetal Stone
AGI+5 CHR+5 "Dual Wield"+6 Latent effect: Attack+10 Evasion+10

No STP but possibly good alternative/better than Patentia?
Which btw in my opinion became less relevant this patch with all the additional ways of getting high levels of magic haste (Haste2, GeoHaste etc) it means we have to give up DW, and honestly belt is one of the first I'd give up, to equip a Windbuffet Belt or something else.

Priority of stats should be something like +20Acc > +20Att > +4% crit > +2% Cdamage > +2%WS damage

Well, at least in theory.
In reality +20Acc won't do anything because you shouldn't really be using Taikogane on stuff where your acc isn't capped.
For attack it's kinda a more complicated issue.
On very old stuff (Limbus, Dynamis, old world stuff, Salvo1, many Salvo2 targets etc) you're either Capped or so close to attcap that you can cap it with food.
On all of these targets that +20 attack wouldn't do much.
On the other hand though if we're talking about Adoulin it's very unlikely you're going to cap attack on anything if you're solo, even with food.

Basically it all revolves in the following question:
Do I want a stat that's gonna be better on the low-end of current game content (up to Delve Fodder-type of targets) but useless on everything older, or a stat that's gonna be worse on current content but it's gonna be useful everywhere, even in the old world?

For anything I really need a +20 acc for I wouldn't use it and 20 att is meh but additional 4% crit warms my heart with the number of attacks the weapon is base 6% crit now add in other gear and that's pretty nice in my book especially on a crit ws hi.

Just to clarify that I wasn't talking about which stat is more heart-warming, but rather abut which one produces the biggest numbers on a spreadsheet.

I like the+4% Crit more my self, but mathematically the +20 attack is not "meh" on Adoulin stuff (and some of the old stuff too), but rather the best choice damage-wise.

So adding the 3 options to the spreadsheet the difference is slightly in favor of crit if acc not needed 687.043/4858 to 687.051/4856 att and 682/4845 acc sticking with crit.

That's impossible.
Unless you created a situation where your attack is capped or close to capped for your current target, Crit+4% won't be better than att+20.

Which is kinda what I was saying before, if your att is capped of course att+20 won't do anything whereas crit+4 will produce better results.

I wasn't saying which augment you *should* get. Hell I'm likely gonna stick crit+4 myself on the Katana.
I was just saying which augment produces bigger numbers.
But if you wanna convince yourself that the one you like is always the best then who am I to stop you?

Wildskeeper reives have undergone the following adjustments.

The number of monsters spawning in wildskeeper reives in Yorcia Weald has been decreased.

Wildskeeper reives in Ceizak Battlegrounds now have a chance to drop a new katana.

The new DW belt comes from the Shikarees fight.
No clue on the Latent effect yet, people who tested it so far say it's always active.
Bye bye patentia belt? Or at least price should go down (was over 8 mils on my server atm, which was kinda HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE)

Tbh I'm not sure on the utility of a DW belt anymore, over other options like Windbuffet Belt etc.
I mean, if you're really solo, no dualbox, no trust etc then of course it's still the best option to stack as much DW as you can.
But in all other situations it's so easy to get additional haste (haste spells, marches from trusts, Haste2 etc) that it's very very easy to reach the point where you have to take off some DW gear to equip something else...

That Chidori Katana kinda trash. That 5 percent "Fast cast" ain't worth using it. Better off using Raimitsukane for high acc fights. The Taikogane katana is lovely. Only wish it was lvl 119 or lvl 117 with katana skill of +200 at least.

Onimusha-no-Kote is a perfect piece for Blade: Metsu set up!

"Trash" sounds a bit of a stretch.
It looks like an excellent 119 Katana option. Clearly not the best, but it does its job if you need a 119 Katana and have no other options, or just need a second one.

keyword "Kinda". I was basically saying It ain't worth putting Raimitsukane away for. But yeah it a good option if you don't have any of the other katanas.

Was it ever found out if Yagentoshiro provides a straight % damage bonus to Ninjutsu Damage or a small and static mab bonus?
If it's %based it could be worth to use even these days on elemental sets.

Think I still have one on my mule lol

Stretching my memory here, I think it was shown to give straight MAB(?)

It was something fairly lackluster, as Elemental Staves handily outperformed it at the time(I think...)

I've seen so many people claim one thing or the other over the years... (Mab or %).

It also kinda depends on where/when in the formula the % gets calculated.
If it's in the end of the formula (after mab, int etc) then it kinda means that there's a threshold after which Yagentoshiro will provide more damage than +10 Mab. Basically the higher the damage of your spells, the higher the effect of the 10% damage bonus.

It counts as pure MAB.

My naked Ni nukes = 269
with katana = 295
with Friomisi Earring = 295
katana and earring = 322

269 * 1.2 = 322

if it was 10% added with based damage, followed by MAB phase, it'd be
269 * 1.1 = 295 (floored)
295 * 1.1 = 325 (floored)

On a related note, I am 5/5 on Tier 1 merits for Hyoton. the wiki pages are incorrect. They list the merits as giving +2 to base damage per merit. In actuality, it gives +2 MAB per merit.

Naked Hyoton with 5/5 = 295
Naked rest of wheel = 269

Hyoton with katana = 322
Hyoton with katana and earring = 349 (floored)

all follow it being straight MAB in the merits also
