New Desktop.

Hi everyone. I'm looking for a elite desktop for gaming. On top of that I'm looking to do it under $1,500 dollars. I understand with how rapid technology advances especially with computers I'm not looking for a old forum post.

I want to build a gaming computer with these specs or similar I don't know what is overkill and what isn't. I just want to elite gaming desktop for under $1,500.

I was thinking...
Processor = 2nd Gen Intel I-7
Operating System = Windows 7
Memory = 16GB
Video Card = I need a video card that will be able to handle four FFXI character and three monitors. (Dual 1.5GB GDDR5 NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 660)
Hard Drive = Prolly 2 TB's. I don't anything about RPM's either.
Sound Card = Not needed but would be nice if I could fit it in my budget.
Optical Drive = I would really like dual drives but its not really needed. I do want a blue ray burner.
Not looking at monitors. :D

I might be missing a few things I'm just not sure about. Another thing I would also like is a CPU liquid cooling unit for my desktop. I personally use newegg.com but you guys/girls might know more then me please let me know. :D If I need to go up to $2,000 I will be willing.

Gimmie a second and I'll come up with a wishlist.

Everything you just described is my computer in a nutshell... straight down to the three monitors though I have a little bit older of graphic cards.

I highly recommend an ASUS motherboard as well.

That will do just fine and you SHOULD be able to pick up everything for around 1500$ and newegg is also an amazing choice. You strike me as someone who knows how to build properly and manage price vs performance and that is a rare quality to me lol.

Couldn't add the BR Drive because of combo stuff, but it was $50 bucks. So about ~$100 over that $1,500 unless I'm forgetting something.

Weakness that is amazing! You literally got everything I wanted very quickly awesome. With the graphics card though. It seemed like you could put two monitors and one HD television is that correct?

The GPU only supports two at a time, but you can have 3 hooked up if that makes sense.

So you can have two monitors going or the TV and one going, but not all three at once. You need dual cards to do that with Nvidia.

Also goofed and put the upgrade version of windows, I swapped it out for the real version though so double check that before you add it to your cart.

How much would a dual card cost?

Another $400 unless you downgraded cards... which I don't really recommend.

Could always go with an AMD because they support 3 way natively, but they usually just have a bum *** of display ports or mini-display ports instead of DVI/HDMI ports so you need converters.

Two of those would be about $200 less then two 670s and just under par performance wise. And yes that PSU I linked supports 2-way SLI, 3-way would be pushing it though.

Honestly I think I'll just go with the two monitor not worth paying another $400 dollars for one extra screen. Also deff not going to downgrade that would be dumb on my part lol. :D thanks so everything in your second post is what I think I should buy/use. Even the tower looks smexy might spray paint it black.

=P It is Black, just has blue LED fans on it.

Edit: I just tossed an SSD in there as a boot up drive, you don't really need it, but they are nice to have. Very happy with my SSD.
