I'm not optimistic, nor pessimistic over the what's coming in the future. I am however patient-- I do want to see what Neo Salvage and SoA both have in store. Roadmaps are generally never followed 100% anyways for any game-- either the game/update gets pushed out early (with flaws) to meet a deadline, or the roadmap(s) get pushed back so that it's a stronger game/update overall. Bugs and glitches happen. Changes happen. New, viable ideas happen. Player input is now valued. These things all slow down development, though in a good way.

You should commend SE even being through enough to show players what they have in store to release over the course of a year at all; FFXI of the past was generally played with everyone having zero clue on what they could expect, up until the day of the update and the update notice a week before.

Updates can be seen as "meh", "lame", "fail", or "lackluster". However, no update that comes with new things to do and no glaring nerfs should be seen as an insult to players.

IMO, take a break from playing. I do them usually for a few months and once was for a year+. Feels great. I have another long term break coming up soon as well (I'll come back around SoA).

Which is exactly what I am doing, taking a break from the game until some worthwhile content is released. While I don't consider these updates "insulting" I know i'm not the only one who has been dissapointed with the added content thusfar after abyssea.

It's to be expected. With knowing the general time frame for the next two big updates (the second being a game changer), everything else between them will be seen as lackluster regardless.

If you've read up on Meeble Burrows you'd realize that the Jeweled Collar is very likely much easier to get...well, depends on how you look at it I guess. The Fast Cast Torque drops from the final boss of Burrows.

It'll be a lot less boring to run Meeble Burrows, that's for sure (only 15 min a day after all), but basically how it works is that you need, at least, 25 runs to even get access to the final chamber, and then you need to re-run certain chambers to re-build buffs inside burrows before you dive in. All-in-all, it's optimistic to say you'd do one final boss a month. Then you need the thing to actually drop.

Seems like there's a few drops that didn't get located on the test server, so I would be unsurprised to find that Umagrhk has other desirable drops.

Tossing it around in Motenten's spreadsheet for Dynamis DC. It looks like the only situation where it pulls ahead of STR-magian is when Beserk is active. Same applies when comparing it to Aluh Jambiya.

Either way, it makes a very solid off-hand.

Don't know about anyone else, but this is the second time I've been in my satchel getting something, and I hit ALT and arrow down right to the bottom because it's faster, and I've crashed both times now.

EDIT: Crashed again exiting a bazaar.
