I wouldn't be so quick to judge most of these useless given that no one knows how they will work yet or to what potency or duration. Yes most of them seem just simply stupid, but if I recall, when the newest set of weaponskills were told, everyone wrote those off as looking mediocre. Given the last two and a half years or so though, seems like SE is taking one step forward and five back. This may finally be an overdue step forward.

The problem is that they will share recast with old 2hours. Cause if that's actually the case, then yes, many of them are pointless.

No, WARs attacks are based on the weapon it is using, this means it is slashing piercing or blunt.
The new 2hr makes WARs attacks non-elemental which means any damage you do will ignore the weapon type essentially making it "non-elemental"

For reference see: Formless strikes, Requiescat, Twilight Scythe.

I'd say it may be equally useful to mighty strikes in zergs where you would be fighting something with major slashing resistance, so it's very situational.

Non-elemental aka instead of doing physical damage, it'll deal non elemental magic damage. This means it'll penetrate Invincible, PDT, and possible Slashing/Piercing/Blunt defenses. Basically Formless Strikes but without the damage reduction.

Can't be asked to go through the entire thread to see if its already been said--but War's new two hour immediately seems like a useful answer to the annoyance of zerging down Paramount Botulus, particularly if the non-elemental damage buff is applied to weapon skills as well.

Greetings!

Thanks for all the feedback thus far on the new 2-hour abilities.
Along with the feedback from the test server, we will be sure to utilize it for further adjustments.

In regards to effect durations and values, they will most likely be adjusted before they are implemented to the live server so please try them out first on the test server and get a feel for them. We are looking forward to hearing your thoughts after testing them out.

We are getting closer to the final stretch to implement these abilities on the test server, so hang in there just a bit longer.

Additionally, we made a few corrections to two of these new abilities. (The original list posted yesterday has been corrected as well.)

  • RDM:
    Incorrect: Grants an increase to the effect and effect duration of enhancing magic.

    Correct: Grants an increase to the effect of enhancing magic.

  • PUP:
    Incorrect: Soulsoother Head: Benediction (Will only apply to the master and automaton)

    Correct: Soulsoother Head: Benediction (Will apply to the party members and automaton itself)

I like how once again, RDM gets nerfed right away. Not sure how useful this new 2 hour will be for RDM, but let's make it even worse before implementing it. As if Rune Fencer and Geomancer aren't more nails in RDM's coffin.
