ok decided on Intel Core i5 3570K - Overclocked to 4.5Ghz

as for gfx cards on a budget as need 2 PC build - so are these worth the money ? (also interested in setting up on 3 screens with eyefinity)

1GB XFX Radeon HD 7770 - 640 Cores, 1000MHz, 4500MHz GDDR5 (£76.77) add £76.77

or

2GB XFX Radeon HD 7850 - 1024 Cores, 975MHz, 5000MHz GDDR5 (£173.78) add £173.78

Even looking at gaming keyboards now .. hope in not being a sucker...

Tried out the Cyborg v7 and thought it seemed good value for money and i liked the key strokes but ive also read that Cooler Master CM Storm Trigger Keyboard is a decent value and to also look at the Corsair (mechanical) keyboard - anyone use any of these and can comment?

If you're going to insist on eyefinity gaming then you now have to worry about vram as well as raw gpu processing power so the 7850 would be better suited for triple monitor eyefinity than the 7770.

It's really up to preference for mechanical keyboards. If you've never touched a mechanical keyboard in your life then it'll be hard to choose.

I personally use a Das Keyboard Professional Silent edition that doesn't exist on their website anymore so the closest one is this one.

There's 4 mainstream cherry mx mechanical switches you'll encounter: red, black, blue and brown.

  • Blue is what most of the Razer Blackwidow keyboards use, you feel the little bump and hear a click when the switch actuates and the computer registers the keypress

  • Brown is the same as blue except you don't hear the click, you only feel it. This is the switch that I'm using on my das keyboard.

  • Black is what the Steelseries 6GV2 and 7G use. It has no clicky sound nor does it have the tactile feedback that let's you know the key has been pressed. It does, however, require a considerable amount of force, relative to blue or browns, to press. I tried out a steelseries 6gv2 and it felt too hard for comfortable typing, wouldn't be too bad for gaming since it's more or less holding down a few keys and tapping others rather than typing out long blog/forum posts or research papers for school.

  • Red is fairly new to the mainstream market and only CM Storm and Corsair have readily available keyboards that use them. Reds are like blacks except they don't require as much force to press. So basically you've got a fully linear keypress all the way down until the key bottoms out and you can't press anymore but it's not going to give you a finger workout like black switches might give you.

My first mechanical keyboard was a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate and I loved it but the clicking noise got really annoying not only to me but to people on vent/mumble/teamspeak/skype. That's when I got a Steelseries 6GV2 and returned it after I settled down with a Das Keyboard Pro Silent.

If I were to recommend a keyboard?

Razer Blackwidow Ultimate is realy hard to beat because they're like dirt cheap at least here (under $100). Even cheaper would be the non-ultimate edition (~$60) but then you lose out on backlit keys. If you don't mind the clicky noise of course. There's also a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate Stealth that usees brown switches that's offered only on their web store but then it starts getting expensive again.

Otherwise I'd probably pick the CM Storm Trigger with red or brown switches. I can't recommend the Corsair keyboards because they aren't fully mechanical because some of their keys are plain old rubberdome keys and yet the keyboards are priced fairly high.

Hope this helps a little.
