[Dev] Shaper's Shawl
Hmm is it me or does it feel like SE, is just shitting all over its customers? From 1500 HMP's for empyreans to Neo-Nyzul to this... I wonder how much money they are willing to lose to make this game the shittiest it can be. I understand having challenging content, which can be fun, but when the content is based solely on luck rather than the hard work you put into it this results in monotonous repetitive events. For example, Voidwatch... I felt like VW was fun to begin with the first 100 kills I did for the items I wanted. The reason why Abyssea was enjoyable was not the great amount of damage you could deal, but the fact that when you worked at something you eventually got it based on the time and effort you put into it. Its not making the game easier its making the game enjoyable is whats important.

I'm very upset with this. Let's give fish bots more things to sell at crazy inflated prices. Yay dev team! luckily you have the option to do it another way then. I love, I'm a crafter without fishing, and I love it. keep it the way it is. Some things are meant to be rare and meant to be "oh wwow, he's got what?"
Don't change this SE. Garuda.Ullysses said: » Hmm is it me or does it feel like SE, is just shitting all over its customers? From 1500 HMP's for empyreans to Neo-Nyzul to this... I'm not attacking you, I just don't see where it contradicts/supports my previous statement that: "If you're upset about /random rewards and 'ridiculous time-sinks', you likely believed yourself to be more hard-core than you actually are and lament SE pointing it out to you." I really doubt things like staghorn coral or sealord leather are going to get significantly cheaper.

Unfortunately, no one pays for this game to feel better about themselves. If doing mindless repetitive tasks makes you feel better about yourself then I won't judge you. No one really cares about being "hardcore" in this game. It is a game you play it to have fun, not for labels attributed to your avatar. I understand "some" people like ridiculous challenges, but I apologize I am an adult with a full time job along with being a full time student and I can say the same for at least 50% if not more of the total Ffxi community. With that said, people under such circumstances do not have 12 hours to devote to game play a day. Aside from that note, does anyone not notice how this is a way for SE to make more money in the long run. They do not make such demanding objective for the player base to enjoy. I see all these supporters of SE's overly ridiculous objectives and can't help but think we have a flock of unintelligent players. I see all these supporters of SE's overly ridiculous objectives and can't help but think we have a flock of unintelligent players. Pretty much everything any company does is for them to make more money in the long run. SE makes the game more fun to appeal to their audience and make more money in the long run. SE makes the game more time-consuming to make more money in the long run (keeping players subscribed for longer period of time). SE makes things take less time to do to make more money in the long run (again, greater appeal, greater enjoyability). Etc. Each of these things also turn off certain player bases, but nevertheless, SE is not doing these things randomly or out of the kindness of their hearts. They want your money. Ifrit.Phlow said: » I'm angry that Mythic Weapons are difficult. The problem with the Shaper's Shawl has nothing to do with being difficult in my view. Its problem is that its so illogical. - Its a traditional crafting skill+ item, not obtainable through crafting/guild. - Buying would be a waste. At 1 mill a fish, the cost to maybe obtain the item would be incredibly more then the cost of skilling a craft to cap normally. I am baffled as far as the unintelligent portion thank you for exemplifying that. I was stating that SE makes events that require such a long time to accomplish is because they want people to pay for a longer period of time... No one is whining here I am simple stating whats on my mind. If you can't handle that then there is an exit button in your top right corner. The fact is the number of players has dropped since a year ago, because people do not find mindless repetitive events to be fun. Frankly, I can't think of a place where this could drop that wouldn't ruffle a few feathers. You can't make it crafted because the craft required to make it would get the same ire as fishing is, and if it dropped from a BCNM/mob, you would get the same argument of "it doesn't make sense." After all, if someone loves crafting, which doesn't rely on having a high-level job, why would they need to all of a sudden level/gear one?
See: A few posts above regarding crafting torques. I'm not really arguing one way or another. I'm just wondering if there's a better idea for where this could drop that wouldn't result in arguing.
