Lol I havent watched the discovery channel since it was what most people would call pretty boring. But all this hyped up stuff... idk smacks of mindless entertainment with just a little discovery added in same thing with the learning channel. Bring back the learning even if it didn't have catchy titles and slanted opinions and cool effects!!!

You can be entertained, and learn at the same time.

Sure I can I loved those shows when I was a kid... but I feel there focusing on the entertainment and just throw in a snapple fact here and there to make you feel like your smart for watching this show.

Sorry. Throw out every entertaining show because it IS entertaining, therefore we're not learning anything.

Honestly.. I mean..rly?

Rly? You guys actually...believe that? >.>

TOO much RLY /explodes

meh I don't find anything entertaining on TV anymore =/ im the kind of person that actually likes a "story" and a well written one too in my TV series/movie or even anime T.T

but lately im getting some /slap in the face with all the crap shows/movies/etc coming out

so I barely watch TV =/

Oh and concerning the learning+ entertainment I don't mind it but just make sure its 50/50

:O

Not what I was saying at all bart. I'm saying shows for learning should be that and shows for entertaining should be just that. Not just adding a little at the end to make it seem that way. I mean cmon like 80% of the channels are for pure entertainment. Whats wrong with having 2 dedicated to random learning... well sure lets throw in the history channel too cause history is just generally interesting anyways. And then a whole bunch of news/commentary shows which are somewhere inbetween learning and entertainment.

Deadliest Catch (although I've missed a few this season >.<) and Dirty Jobs prolly. I like Mike Rowe, he's awesome.

Used to like mythbusters, but I dunno, they're just silly anymore...

There's a show coming out for Discovery (I believe), gonna be called "Outer Space" and it's gonna be what Planet Earth was but for the Universe and ***. OMFG I can't wait ^^

Cash Cab for me. I enjoy it because it has some of the best rules. Two call outs, three strikes, some really difficult questions that don't have multiple choices. The show is a real test of knowledge and you get to have a ride around to your destination while getting pop quizzed. =D
