Zaraki's shikai was... underwhelming, as well. It'd honestly have been better to just leave him without a shikai. In fact, the notched blade was infinitely more interesting. I'd have relished it if it were special in some way; different than other swords.

There's still bankai to go. Which is probably something like instantkillmegaexplosionwithhismassivedick.

Would be funny if he died from trying Bankai, just exploding because the power is too much

that was the most useless issue ever. i mean the last panel in the last issue was everyone going, "huh, dafuq is that thing in the sky?!", and we know it's ichigo. now we just get to see him land on the ground... come the *** on. END THIS ***!

She might be in a chapter soon, he has been showing a lot of useless characters so far.

This is the exact reason why the anime got cancelled, too many fillers/nonsense moves to extend the series (like author is trying to stall to think of good ending or w/e)

Really wish ichigo would have finished off these quincy girls in one chapter and moved on already. Especially with the chapters being a 3 minute read its annoying that its extending the fight across numerous chapters when these girls are clearly garbage compared to him in strength level and their powers are cliche and/or boring. They arent gonna push him enough to force him to reveal his true abilities anyway so hopefully he sates his desire to toy with weaklings soon and maybe we can finally get a fight that isn't so lopsided. Though maybe that's asking for too much since the last time there was a fight in the manga that wasn't one sided and both combatants were more or less evenly matched was probably ichigo vs grimmjow which was forever ago.

I would've been okay with Bleach ending after Aizen. It felt more like Bleach back then, now it just feels like a shitty filler and the pacing is all odd. Too many new characters at once, too many fodder fights instead of meaningful fights where they get to know the backstory of the enemy, their motivations and the fights actually being close.


Bleach sucks now, it's not even about Hollows anymore.



He also wastes way too much space on each page, in the beginning he had so much more story on each page. Now it's like 1-3 panels.

I wonder if at one point it became monthly if it could have lived to a much higher quality. Kubo has had a terrible descending curve over the years.

Monthly would definitely help it. He needs more pages per chapter, it takes too long to build any story when he always has to end it on a cliffhanger partway through. Of course not wasting panels would be the best thing but he can't help himself anymore. Just compare his current chapters to the ones around the start, so much more story was crammed in on each page.

I wish manga editors were more like the people at Naver and Daum, giving the artist a lot of freedom to create what they want instead of pushing for things that sell. All the ecchi harem ***for example, you don't see that nearly as often in webtoons and the stories are way more unique and interesting. Lots of varied art styles, all in color and no god damn bathing scenes and pantyflashes every 2 pages. If they need a break for a bit then they get one, as long as they need to be able to continue and feel good.

The Japanese mangakas pretty much work themselves to death with their deadlines and you can kinda tell when the editor has pushed for more shitty stuff like bath scenes to push up its popularity so it won't get axed (which is pretty easily compared to a webtoon). Mangaka is also to blame though, not focusing on the story and characters and just recycling tedious ecchi/harem with stereotypical characters because it's considered safe.

Pretty much what Kubo is doing with Bleach now, just drawing eye candy instead of actually advancing the plot.

Hell for the last two years really. I'm tempted to give up and just check back in a year so I can read more than two sentences in one sitting. It kinda makes it hard or even boring to followwhen it's so slow.

This chapter had some comic relief, Yuroichi, minor plot details, Ikkaku/Yumi in some combat...

I mean, felt pretty well rounded.
