I want to complete the Windy missions but I've seen some old posts where you lost your OP teleports and other negative things. Is this true? Do you have to do Teleport runs once you switch form Sandy to Windy and do you lose them once you switch back? Any other 'logistical' things I should be aware of before I start?

You lose access to using the Outposts that you have supplied from your current nation (they are not lost permanently, just unavailable until you switch back). You will have to do new outpost supplying for your new nation to gain those outposts for use under your new nation.
It also costs gil to swap nations. Depending on the ranking of the nation you are switching to (lower is cheaper).
As far as I know that's about it.

Edit: And since December 2011 (not sure if date is right) you get to keep all OP warps even if you change nations.

Hence why I said it would be set to 0.. Because he has never been there before.. >.>

It's just that with that wording people can assume it's "reset" on a change.
Oh and originally (2002/2003) it was indeed reset. You would really lose all OP warps and CPs... >_<
I lost all my OP and CP (like 200k worth) because I swapped nations about a week before they announced the changes :( :( :(

Thats what I did back in the day when I was switching to get rank 10 all nations

I was not a clever 14 year old. I barely knew what I was doing back then, was mostly just following my friend's lead haha.
