Transferring FFXI ID To Another SE Account

Hi,

My brother quit playing FFXI and moved on to FFXIV, therefore still using his SE account, but not his FFXI ID. He wants to give me his account for ffxi but we do not know how to go about doing so. Is there a way we can just move the ID to my SE account so I can reactivate it and pay so he doesn't get charged? Or do i have to give him money every month?

Does FFXI and FFXIV have to separate payment method were you can insert 2 different CC's?

I'd like to know this as well if it's possible, I have someone who is hounding me to let him use my xi account, but I still want to keep tabs on xiv.

It is possible, but you have to submit a direct request and it takes 3-4 weeks during which time you cannot play... or so I was told by an SE representative.

Think I can do it via chat or do I have to call them :x

I added my brother to my SE account and when he came back and wanted to play again I moved him to his own and neither of us were deactivated for any period of time. But it was hell on earth finding a rep that knew what they were doing.

I used the online support thingy on their website. There may well be no deactivation time if you get the right rep, but that is what was told to me :(

Also i would have a good reason why you wish to transfer ... as its against TOS to even let anyone bar the person who is the OO to even log on or play the toon with you sat next to them.

Yeah lol I'm not going to tell them I'm letting someone else use it, I would just say I want them separate for financial reasons or something like that ... (if that even makes sense lol)

you could always add 2 cc's to one of the SE accounts and have it pay for them separately.

but switching the SE account would be better in the long run imo.

I had wondered about it too for some time.

Did they just keep going from one rep to another until they knew what they were doing? I would like to have this done today so i can use both accounts immediately. But I don't like the sound of having my account inactive for a few weeks :/

I called 5 times or so iirc. Eventually one said he could help me out. I would try to play it in a way that isn't against the tos. Hell the first few times I wouldn't even give a reason unless they ask.

Also, the process its self takes time so don't expect them to be unlinked today. It's impossible especially since it's a weekend and SE's service center is closed.

Just say you want to separate the passwords as a precaution.

It's a good idea anyway.
