You get your first attunement slot at 10, then 12, 14, 16, 19, 23, 28, 34, 41 and 50. As far as making your spells stronger the npc who gave it to you that you rescued from the depths can upgrade your flame to 15 then there is a npc in the swamp that can add another 5 levels and sells more advanced spells. For her to appear you need to have your flame already leveled past 10(?) though. No stats are used for damage, just the level of the flame so it's good for builds that don't want to focus on magic stats.

I assume you frequent Barneezy's stream?

If you see a Raenil in the chat or Dreizak on PS3 or Raenil Tilgung on PC that's me.

This is the ring Mildred uses kitty, but it doesn't do anything for fire damage. Mildred is naked remember so that 600 dmg fire sphere I mentioned will hit her for high dmg. She has about 1900 hp so 4 of those will pretty much kill her

Yeah... I decided to give up fighting her for awhile, >_> Mildred dies then I die, so it's just a waste of humanity :/ She doesn't tank she just runs in hits her and runs around till she dies.

I get down with alot of Twitch bros. Barneezy/Dreaded/Peeve are the bigger streams but you'll also often see me in Yukaslegion, Isthefridge, Domthebomb, Knutaf, Skulled, Shortdude, Spades, Carnefice, DarkLordSen, etc. I frequent 360 streams alot but I watch a few PC/PS3 streams every once in a while. =P

I also host Fight Clubs on 360 fairly often, as well as 2v2/FFA Arena matches with twists (ie no backstabs or Roleplay builds only) and other fun events.

Kitty, sorry wasn't checking the topic.

Best thing to do is get on the side of her and stay there swinging when you can. You need to have a view of her naked body to make sure she isn't laying down. Once you see her lean forward you need to run back as fast as you can to get out of range. It's one of the earliest signs of her doing that move.

Be mindful of where the lava is, and if you need to lure her to a clean part of the battlefield then do so.

Oh, and if anyone ever needs help on 360 feel free to message me on XBOX (VirtuosusFFXI), on Twitch (Virtuosus), or here. I have mostly SL100s and 120s but I have tons of items stocked up and would also be happy to help with some Jolly co-op if I have anything in your level range. :)

I watch Barneezy and Peeve all the time. Seen a few of Dreaded but not much else. Occasionally I'll watch Havik's.

I've been tempted to try streaming, but my internet sucks and my ability to connect with other players is very finicky. Would get pretty boring. :<

That's what I would do :/ would just run from her as soon as I got 2 or 3 hits in, but she seemed to always somehow trap me :/

Thanks Ina :) I'll be on tomorrow then.

I understand your pain. I think they nerfed NPC AI or something, because people said that it was loleasy to fight Gaping Dragon with the two NPCs Solaire and Whats-his-face, but all they did was get up in his face and die within 5-10 minutes and then leave me with over half a bar of life left on the boss.

That's all they did for me too :/ stayed in for about maybe half the bar maybe alittle more, then I had to do the rest lol.

I was taking into account the best of three losses against him lol. I learned not to 2-hand against him the second attempt.

And yeah, I think the fights were easier with NPCs awhile back. When I first fought the Bell Gargoyles the NPCs ripped them to shreds. Cut the tail and I barely had to do anything besides poke at them a few times and dodge.

I would never recommend someone rely on blocking pyromancy no, you need to use your movement. If they switch to black flame that black knight's shield won't help you much since it's such an extreme stamina drain

Are you talking about my Hollow Soldiers Shield?

You can block Black Flame pretty reliably with Black Knight Shield actually. As for Crest Shield, I suppose its useful for Sorceries/Dark Magic but you generally want to be rolling/dodging Pursuers/Dark Bead/Soul Spears etc entirely rather than blocking them.

Nah. But if no one answered your question. There is a shield that blocks a lot of magic damage you can get called the crest shield if you go back to the undead asylum. It's got lower stability but a very handy shield to have. Plus the black knights spawn there and might drop their shield which you can upgrade to +5 for very high stability this early on

yeah, I am gonna head back that way. beat the butterfly here and got my *** handed to me twice by Havel and lost like 5k souls because of him. lol

Black Flame mostly just deals more poise damage than Great Combustion, for a slight (almost unnoticable, but its there) decrease in damage. The poise damage is 60 (which means you would need 61 to eat one without being staggered.)

Black Knight Shield holds up pretty damn well against Black Flame, or any Pyromancy really. It's certainly a useful shield for mid-rolling builds, but if you're fast rolling you really want to be roll backstabbing those spammers as punishment.

Edit: Oh, and the most stamina you can possibly get in this game is 192. END stops giving stamina at 40 (160 stamina) and Ring of Favour/Protection shoots that up to 192.

The meta is SL100 and SL120 mostly, that's where the majority of players stop at for PvP, so most people tend to sit at 30-40 endurance at the very least, and FaP/Wolf is pretty common ring setup, so it's not uncommon for players to have max stamina.

If I'm running at you and do a running 2 handed swing, can that be parried? I've never tried but curious

Yes. Pretty much all attacks in this game are parry-able. Even Greatshield bashes are parry-able.

The only exceptions are Whips (full moveset) and Large Hammer (2H rolling attacks) which cannot be parried, as well as a few specific weapon R2s.(Butcher's Knife 2H R2 for example)

Actually there is 1 move from every weapon set that can't be parried, specifically the lunging attack (R2 + Forward) It's also useful for knocking enemies out of a parrying stance. However it's nice and slow and easily punished, so I wouldn't recommend it against other players.

Great and Lifehunt Scythe users get parried all day long because they do this. Mostly because they unlock and run in a circle, advertising what they're doing though.

Silly people. :<

Just kick parry spammers. Or back stab them. or Great Combustion/Black Flame.
