Is it a sign of too much Dark Souls if you have a dream about it?

Solaire was all about praising the sun in my dream. Until I killed him for his shield.

Yesterday morning, when you messaged me Josi.. I was killing Hydra. After that, I went back into Sif's forest and got invaded by both the Forest Hunters and a normal invasion at the same time.

One shot one of the forest hunters, the other one ran away. The normal invader was dual wielding Demon's Greataxe. Lols were had. (He was fat-rolling and had no clue what to do.)

I just got onto my first Dark Souls char that I ever mAde. He's missing tons of ***, and he's built like a tank. It's funny to see how little thought I put into my character on that first playthrough, but no matter how crude he is, he is effective. Also for some odd reason he has some items I'be not seen in any of my other playthroughs.

I didn't say I had had too much Dark Souls. I was just curious if it was possible.

Man I wish 2 lvl 4 guys with my build had invaded you instead lol
that sounds just plain annoying, not fun

I said, lols were had. Didn't say it was fun. Was all over in about 10 minutes due to me *** around with the dual greataxe guy. Used around 19 Force on him just to piss him off. He had like no poise, or very little anyway.

Solaire is pretty much always killed, saving him is for the most part useless and his armor set is good. Should honestly always kill him after getting his help on all the fights...

Not like you need him for Gwyn anyway. Easiest boss ever.

I let him go hollow and kill him there usually. Except in my last playthrough. Killed him right at the beginning, since I didn't need his help and all.

Best thing ever is when I get invaded by some lower end player and they see me ninja flip in giants, then they just teleport home without fighting.

They know they gonna lose. Or the ones that spam the Lloyd's talisman on you. (like I'd heal anyway, and even if I did, I'd just use humanity)

Ever had that experience Josi? Someone sees your armor/gear and just runs away.

I don't think his gear is worth it honestly, not in the slightest bit. I only killed him on my first playthrough, and I didn't even want to etc etc. I mean, I can understand killing him for collecting purposes, but other than that killing him is just as useless as saving him.

At +10, the Armor of the Sun (body) is one of the best overall stat pieces in the game. Not necessarily the highest stats, but for the weight of it, it's ratio is at the top of the charts for body pieces.

Also, the Sunlight Shield, at +15, is only 4 stability less than the Silver Knight Shield +5. Which is the highest out of all medium shields in the game, making Sunlight the third highest. It also weighs 1.0 less than the Silver Knight, making it more viable for low level players. (That 1.0 weight can mean the difference in a fast roll and a mid roll optimization.)

Ehh, isn't the Spider shield +15 only 1 less stability than the shield, but also 100% toxin/poison block while also weighing another pound less? I forgot the body had so much though, it is kinda smexy.

Also I think the balder knight's shield provides more stability at the same weight

The spider shield is decent at +15 and yes it does only have 1 less stability and 1 less weight than sunlight. However, it has 50 less durability, 3 less fire and 2 less lightning resistance.

The poison/toxic buildup immunity when blocking is negligible for the most part, as it's only real use is in blighttown, at which you should be using it if you're worried about dieing to such status afflictions.

Very few other things poison/toxic you.

I believe the 70 stability causes a small bar more of stamina drain against large creatures compared to 71 as well. Would have to test when I get home. As the stability affects flinching as well. For example, with my silver knight shield +5 I can block Smough's overhead hammer smash without a single flinch (I just slide back while continuing to block).

When it comes to minor things like this, it's all a trade-off. If you need that 1 more weight leverage over sunlight, then yes, you should use spider. If you can afford 1 more weight, then you should use sunlight. Since it does have better stats and all, however small they are. Though optimally, you should be using whatever shield is best for what you are fighting. I carry about 6 different shields with me at all times and change them depending on what/who I'm fighting.

Unless it's Josi of course, then I just Silver Knight it up since he can't kill me anyway. :P

Balder is 75 stability which is awesome. (oops guess that makes it second) However, the overall resistances are horrible when compared to the aforementioned shields. Mainly the magic resist stat. Now if you are fighting against pure magic damage, you should use crest shield. But, if you are against physical and magical (which a lot of people/enemies have) it's going to make you take significantly more damage over time. Enchanted weapons and all that jazz. Or Wrath of the Gods spam out of nowhere.

He did kill me with his level 4 though. He used the most powerful catalyst for his stats coupled with all the possible buffs to damage and fully hit me with Dark Bead (I let him) when my Great Magic Barrier was down. We test all kinds of ***like that often. Actually, I think we test things more than we actually duel.

First post x.x..

I've been playing on a faith char now for the last few days, has anyone ever had the problem where you kill patches in the catacombs, and when entering the Tomb of the giants Rhea and friends are no where to be found? Did a little searching online, mentioned either dukes prison or the alter at the church, but she's in neither location. Trying to complete 100% trophies for ps3 so trying to get her spells.

From the wiki...

Quote:
Firelink Shrine
She, along with Vince and Nico of Thorolund, will appear next to Petrus after the Capra Demon is defeated. The group will remain here until you have exhausted their dialogue or Pinwheel is defeated.

Tomb of the Giants
She is in the pit where Patches throws you. She requests you to "free" her escorts. After killing both of them, talk to her and she will give you the Replenishment Miracle and then she will move to the Undead Parish church.

Undead Parish
There are 2 possible outcomes depending on your action:
If you clear another area instead of immediately go to the Undead Parish after rescuing her:
You will find seven Humanity and a Pendant in front of the altar. If you kill Petrus now he will drop an Ivory Talisman which is unique to Rhea (This only happens if you've gotten Lautrec's tip, otherwise you can usually go to Rhea at your leisure).
If you go immediately to Undead Parish after rescuing her:
You will find her in front of the altar where you found the Fire Keeper Soul. Now you can buy her miracles. If you speak with her, she will reveal that it was Patches who had trapped herself, Vince and Nico in the pit in the Tomb of the Giants. At that point Petrus had abondoned them but she does not seem to hold a grudge against him for this action.

If at any time you pay Lautrec for information, he will tell you more about Rhea and Petrus. If you proceed to speak to Petrus, he will threaten Rhea's life and make good on his threat eventually. If you allow him to kill Rhea, you will find seven Humanity and a Pendant in front of the altar and Petrus will now drop an Ivory Talisman. The only way to prevent this is to kill Petrus before he kills her (although you'll still sin if you kill him).

The Duke's Archives
If Petrus doesn't kill her and you have purchased all of her items (specifically all Miracles and a Divine Blessing), she will go Hollow and can be found in a cell in the prison tower of The Duke's Archives.

Specifically this part though is your problem...

Quote:
If you kill Patches prior to rescuing Rhea in the Tomb of the Giants, the next place you will encounter her is in the Duke's Archives, as a hollow.

Basically, you dun *** up. Better luck next playthrough. But if she's not in the prison as you say, then you didn't look in the right place. She has always been in the correct place in every circumstance that I have ever encountered (which is all of them).
